Ya know these threads about parties and meets & greets.

How good does it feel for the postee to type the words "no more single guys"?

I don't do meets & greets so I'm simply curious?

Especially when its a single guys that posts it? Is there a sense of euphoria? Maybe a sense of "sorry lads, you wont't be getting laid tonite but I'll get a ride off all the women going to the meet & greet"

How does the female part of a couple feel when the quota of single lads is full? We all know that the women like lots and lots and lots of single guys, but the male organisers or the males of the couples are not overly enthralled about too many single beautiful, sexy, hunky lads who can't get in.

Just wondering.

I feel bad saying no. But at the same time the single males would also be pissed off turning up to an event and finding it was 95% other single males too. We get SO many requests from single males that this would likely be the case if we let the first 100 people who asked in.

We started out trying to balance the numbers 50/50. If we were looking for 100 people we would invited 50 made up of couples, 25 single male, 25 a single female. This works great apart from the fact that a larger proportion of the single males bottled it over the other groups. This has led to us inviting more single males than any other group with the assumption that more won't turn up.

A lot of thought goes into this believe it or not.

Don't include all males in that all encompassing statement.

Mrs K us welcome to as many as she can handle, and I know a lot of guys from couples who feel the same.

by a lake with my rod out

speaking as a single guy that has/does host both parties and m&g's that amount of guys that ask to attend as soon as you post it on the forum would nearly fill the event most venues have a limit on the amount of people you can have so if you have space for 100 people where is the sense in inviting 70 guys 10 cpls and 10 women ?. each and every meet and greet myself and lolli have thrown we have increased the quota for single guys and the number of drop outs increased too there are a core of single guys that you can almost guarantee will turn up. i'd like to think that lolli and myself get a good mix of cpls, women and men to turn up. Ask anyone that has come to any of our events. we operate a first come first served basis and the only stipulation is that people are verified by meeting. and when the quota for guys is full we operate a reserve list as we know people will drop out closer the time.

As for parties these are different they have a much higher drop out rate that socials. i have in the past invited 19 guys( there where 8 single women) to a party only for 2 or 3 to turn up.so for parties you have to be more strict with who gets an invite as its important to get the mix just right. as the guys that complain about not getting to parties would complain if they turned up and it was 30 guys and the women didn't turn up.

"sorry lads, you wont't be getting laid tonite but I'll get a ride off all the women going to the meet & greet" if thats what you think its like then let me tell you you are so wrong when you are hosting you rarely get a chance to sit down let alone get a ride that goes for male and female hosts.

Absolutely, I actually feel awful telling anyone no and having to tell them it's full, it doesn't give me a buzz at all, plus by the end of the night I'm so tired, sex is the last thing I think about, the day of the event before the social il even kicks off is just mental busy and by the time everyone's in you finally get a drink, it's near the end of the night and I personally find myself exhausted and just wanna crawl into bed

And as for hosts getting the pick of the litter as you have insinuated previously, I can tell you that doesn't happen!

Well said and with that type of attitude towards the hosts won't get many invites to anything

you need a fair mix willow. the OP peobably has a max number of people s(he) can fit into a function room. i dont know that exact percentage per meet and greet that will make for a successfull M&G but if we say 1/3 for couples, single males and single females then once the single male 1/3 is full then you have to let people know 'no more single males'. its not a power thing.

single male allocation will go fast because of the amount on fabs. if i went to a meet and greet and it was full of single male then i would be a bit disappointed! i might as well go up to my local and look at the farmers.

if you want to go to a M&G then get you name down as quick as you can to avoid disappointment.
