"Lionel Messi... "

What a match, the first half was world class. The second was mesmerising. Both teams played amazing football.

Do we realise how lucky we are to be living through this time?

We are witnessing possibly the greatest footballer of all time grow and develop in front of us. He creates all his goals all by himself. I feel so fortunate to witness his creativity.

On his second goal tonight he managed to bounce the ball from one foot to the other on ONE step!, this is not a fluke, he is humble, he is polite, he is creative, he is dangerous, he is a true artist. The match tonight was epic, between players, managers, teams, all shone, but the match was won by a genius.

Up until recently that's statement would have been whole heartedly agreed with Maradona was incredible, he won the World Cup and practically won Series A on his own

But

Messi is at this a decade now he is decimating all records before him has won everything excluding the World Cup, but nearly did that last summer.

He is just mind blowing to watch, dreamy even lol

Therefore Kaizer is publicly stating Lionel Messi is the best ever and will, in time, prove to be the greatest player we've ever seen.

Hold on Hal pal... that’s a disgracfull suggestion... its an embarresment... its a disgrace... I resemble that comment.

But its still a disgrace... its a disgrace to the game.

Eh, not everyone is going to agree with my opinion of the player, I wouldn’t expect them too.

Eh, you’re never going to win a popularity contest writing about a real pro and a real world class player.

Eh, if you have passion… you know, if you have conviction, Eh… if you believe the lies you are telling… Eh, you can stand to make a great deal of money in this game.

I swear I'm not Dunphy ... I'm telling you.

The players around him last night didn't do much. He one that game Maradonna Mexico 86 style. Amazing to watch. Plus he doesn't dive or act like a spoiled brat.

Messi is the best, but I always liked fat ronaldo back in the day. Serious power and speed. Finishing wasn't the best but nobody made defenders look like complete ejits like he did

Guys it's not even a contest. Messi is a brilliant player in a brilliant team, he has never played in anything other than a brilliant club team. People will remember the Barcelona team over the last 10 years as one of the greatest if not greatest club sides ever. When it comes to playing for the national team Messi is good but that's all (he's still surrounded by very good players, the Argentina team he plays in has more good players than Maradonna a had, but Barcelona would beat Argentina everytime!). Diego Maradonna won the World Cup almost single handedly (Argentina were an average team) and in 1990 when he was past his best he almost did it again with a poor Argentina team. The game has changed, it's now completely non contact, watch you tube at some of the tackles Maradonna was subjected to and were common place in the game then, and he still stayed on his feet! Messi, although technically a genius (when he has the ball at his feet) would not have counted in the 80's or early 90's as he would have been pushed aside. Maradonna was the greatest, there is no doubt, ask the Argies they'll confirm that for you. Just as another issue, messi contributes nothing in a game until someone gives him the ball (doesn't track back, doesn't tackle). If out of the top 3 players in the world at present you had to take them out if their current teams and put them into an average premier league team on their own who'd have the greatest impact as a one man show? Messi would be third, behind ronaldo and too dog with a track record to prove it and back it up would be Suarez! The ultimate team player. And I'm not a Liverpool supporter before anyone starts.
