Has social media turned us into shoe stamping children.

Just a personal observation of mine to share. In recent years has social media such as Facebook etc given us means to vent any negative experience of people and businesses or services etc in way that we maybe should not. I constantly see posts about bad experiences of things blown out of all proportion. I have seen staff of companies slated for just applying company policies. These people are only doing what they are told yet a rant on Facebook may not be fair yet get the poster what they want just to stay quiet. Has the attitude of live and let live been forgotten. Also businesses have now been founded to do negative posting which is small bit frightening. Years ago there was proper procedure for complaining etc. Nowadays it seems we can say what we like. Stamp the feet til we get what we want. Just my view to be fair but would appreciate others views without personal attacks on any posters if possible.

In a way yes. People have become better at complaining about bad experiences especially when it comes to companies etc because of the access via social media. Look at any twitter feed for some company and you will see a rake of complaints on it from disgruntled customers. Some companies do have notices up at pay points I.e. Refund policy etc but people will ignore them in majority of cases. The old saying of the customer is always right is a load of shit.

You will always hear the negative never the positive

Great point and thanks. I myself agree and was pondering even though loads of just complaints is there element that do it just to get what they want whether right or wrong.

Too many keyboard warriors around and it's so easy to post a status up giving out about someone or something as they know they will get loads of people to join in and like there posts, but yet the same people wouldn't bring the complaint to the manager. the Internet is a great tool when used right

No. If a business is run well they should be able to handle adverse online commenting or they're being lax. I, as a consumer should be able to use all & any tools to spend my hard earned money wherever I choose.

Agree. You can be positive and constructive even when you are complaining. As you mentioned there are companies either directly or indirectly giving false negative reports on their competitors. This was highlighted recently on UK consumer programs.
