from my limited experience I see regular contributors on the forums who also go to socials etc and have become "groups" of pals, does that make them a clique?

I dont think so, I joined quite recently and They mostly have made me feel welcome. BUT you do need a backbone after all it is an open forum thus open to different opinions...

Can I chime in and tell you that it brings me no pleasure to read how you're feeling and thinking. Your contributions here on the forums are balanced, grounded, and refreshing. Its true what you say, there can be a lot of noise here and very little signal. But in balance there are many good contributors, and I would consider your previous posts to be engaging and thought provoking. The trick here is to filter the BS. Yes, It takes up your time, but its very easy to become fluent at it. There was a time here when everyone had basic manners, and people realised there was more value for money in listening than there was in talking.

We dont feel there is much of a clique at all!

Its quite simple there is a small group of full on swingers in ireland, and they all know each other well enough to be comfertable on forms and in socials,

So its easy to interact witheach other as the share the same beliefs and most views.

When a newbie comes into the fold more often then not they are welcomed! as fresh meat adds new flavor to the mix!

But as soon as the new couple male female does not play by the group rules people can be ostrasised!

But thats true of all walks of life, it does not mean your excluded, it just means your not hitting your target market

The people that complain most about it are the ones not getting meets and blame the "clique " rather then them selves.

People just because its a "swinger"site does not mean you are guarenteed a shag! People are still here for there own reasons! Stop whineing but, if the clique (if there is one) annoys you ignore them! Keep looking for ypur thing.

Its noting personnel thats life! We have no doubt we are outsiders here even tho we are so called swingers a long time! We play by our rules and we could not care less if we are liked by certain people or not!

Relationships exist on here just the same as they do in the real world. It's not completely impartial as people know each other, some have had very intimate relationships. Previous interactions between users have built up emotions and judgements, and these are brought to the table with comments people make. This happens here just the same as in real life.

Things are complicated further because there are hidden agendas. The biggest of which is that users want sex with each other. This leads many into supporting those they fancy, and disagreeing with those they don't. This happens in everyday life too btw. Not just here.

Having said all that I also believe that anyone outside the regulars here are generally listened to according to the merit of what they have to say. If someone adds something useful or interesting to a discussion people will generally respond. They may not agree, but at least you are adding to the discussion.

Unfortunately where people get to know each other in any group cliques are formed. This place is no different. There are a huge amount of sycophant guys (and sometimes women) in the forums and chat rooms. If it works for them to get a meet or to feel popular good luck to them! I've seen threads on the forum being taken over by people in these cliques.

Agreed cj. As relevant new comers to the forums most of our posts are ignored but we have a laugh with some of the people we have met here before we started using the forums. Some people are friendly and get on with each other after meeting each other privately or at m&gs. Wouldn't call it a clique.

Yes there are those who say stuff for reactions and can be down right mean but that's what the report function is for
