Meh only two days of the year the sale of booze isn't allowed apart from hotels and people go mad for it. Yes its a stone law from when the state was linked to the church but if you can't go one day you may have a problem

I think it's more to do with being defiant than acohol dependency for most people

It's just about people wanting what they can't have, it's a bit childish really. I went shopping yesterday and all I saw was people with shopping trolleys filled with drink. Same people probably wouldn't bother drinking any other Friday of the year. But I suppose it's a case of monkey see monkey do. Diageo and Heineken must be delighted

And then there are people who get absolutely twisted on Paddy's Day, and i can't be bothered, i say each to their own, i drink when i feel like it, regardless what day it is, religion definitely won't stop me from doing this or anything else
