Don't think the tsunami or 9/11 is something anyone should joke about

don't think any jokes about any disaster are tasteful. There are enough other things too make comedy about. With disasters there are families left in devastation and it's never something to be lighthearted about.

No issues with jokes. I'm very far from PC. as long as they are told in the right company. It's all about knowing when.

And also assuming it's known it's a joke. And that I don't have the beliefs regardless of the joke made.

I think as was said above that it's a sort of coping mechanism. We'll get nowhere if we let all the depressing things in the world get us down.

I personally think if one of our family members was in such disasters we wouldn't make fun of it, that is of course my point of view, if people make jokes about it it's their choice

Just because we don't know people involved in such horrible tragedys our hearts go out to them and their loved ones

We should count ourselves lucky that we are never in that situation

I love a bit of satire as entertainment and I think everything is up for ridicule. Whether you buy into, hate it or enjoy it, it is a personal choice and I think it has a place. Just look at what happened at Charlie Hebdo, did it warrant all those deaths because of the offensive content? I'm all for those freedoms whether I agree or not.

As for racism, religious persecution or any kind of discrimination in the community or around the globe, fuck no that shits abhorrent.

I don't think laughing at anyone's misfortune and grief especially when people have died over a tragedy a terrorist act or a force of nature it's people who's lives have been taken

Its all dependant on when where and who the jokes are aimed at. Some jokes told in terms of Irish are so racist but we tend to let shit like that slide.

It doesnt matter if its socially acceptable or not. What matters is the intent.

If it's dark humor then move on, if its directed to hurt someone, then maybe complain.

I thought the Joan Rivers joke was funny.

If I remember correctly it was something to do with the height of divorce rates in America she couldn't believe that a fraction of the women were relieved?

You Do think "ahhh jeez" inside but it's dark humouR

When faced with tragedy, shock, grief, worry etc I tend to relieve my stress with a bit if morbid humour. I also see irony in many such situations.

Better laughing than crying, me thinks
