"I hate it we're celebrating a Welsh man for bringing Christianity first to Ireland when....he didn't! Pallidius is on record as being the first to bring Christianity, though the two may have been mixed up in records mid/late 5th century. It's a stupid holiday in my opinion that people use as an excuse to get pissed. Hey we're Irish, sure what else would we do! " ....so that's why there's no Paddy Welshman.. . I always wondered about that....

"Ireland was a strong country before it became Christian. Irish tribes were the only ones to fight off the Roman Empire. The scot tribe in scotland were Irish settlers, and historic evidence shows that one of the largest movements of roman troops ever marched on them. They won the battle but the Scots in Irish fashion kept ambushing them, kept fighting, kept beating them in smaller numbers meaning they had to build a wall. They didnt even bother with Ireland. Dna evidence show that Vikings had no impact on the DNA of Irish people. That means they came, they settled, they fought, but they never beat us, they never conquered us. It wasnt until we became christian, put all our old ways away. We don't even know our old ways properly we buried them so deep. We are not even celtic tribe, we never even considered ourselves celtic, and have no link to any celtic tribe. We were here in Ireland before celtic tribes even existed. What we do when we celebrate st patricks day is fill our heads with propaganda, about the catholic religion and our struggles to be independent and nonsense celtic heritage. We get d*unk and bury who we really are even deeper, and we package it up and try and sell it to the world." very interesting piece,

" The Doyles & other groups may disagree but don't let facts get in the way of a bit of chest beating on St. Patrick's day.
