Today I had two fuel pump failures in a light aircraft, made it home safely.

Is it human nature to put yourself in dangerous situations?

What have you done that you could of avoided, the things you like to do but have a little risk involved?

Am sure some of you do motersports, hillwalking and have often got in to a difficult situation.

We make risk/reward decisions every day. The level of acceptable risk is weighed up against the potential reward.

Meeting a stranger for sex is always a risk, but sometimes the reward is worth it.

How many fuel pumps are there on a small aircraft?

I always get a scary thrill on the back of hubs' motorbike.

2 fuel pumps, I used a fuel primer to get home, it's for pumping fuel to the engine before you start but it works.

Light aircraft is for social fun, no commercial value, it's the same as anyone's hobby.

Thanks for the comment.

I ride motorcycles fast, very fast. The thrill is indescribable. There's a fine line between thrill and potential danger. I ride that line.

Don't mind the smart arsed comments here First Officer. Only a few get to experience pure adrenalin.

Glad all worked out for you today

It's great to see a man over 70 still flying, he did a good job putting it down considering the problems he had.

I once jumped out of a plane harnessed to a stranger from 13000 feet

.it was only when we landed that he told me we had to use reserve chute as 1st one got tangled.

Cant say I'd be in a rush to do it again

"Just wondering seriously now is fuel primer like t pump ball pump or foot pump"

Depending on the aircraft, some can be a ball pump like you see on machines , the one today was dash mounted primer.

Most of the older aircraft are on carbs, fuel pressure is between 0.2 and 0.4 bar...

The primer is only used before start normally to preserve battery power.

It was my get out of jail card today.
