I throw myself into my work. That's a good way to distract.

Or talk to someone, that helps too.

Long walks, watching films, wanking and looking for a solution to the thing that's worrying me.Try to get as much sleep as possible even if it's catnaps.Eat well and healthily.

If it was something that has an emotional dimension, for example an upcoming death of a loved one, there's not a lot you can do about it except be grateful that you have reliable true friends who know you inside out and can lift your spirits after the event.

If it's a non emotional thing like money worries or some fool trying to undermine you, just remain dispassionate, cold hearted, stubborn and laugh in the face of adversity. You are your own person,so don't let someone else try to influence your way of thinking.

I tend to put worries to the back of my mind, keep busy, and quietly without realising I, more often than not, find the solution, but I am not afraid to look for help if feel I can't do it alone, I then have a great hubby and friendsiI will turn to, never be afraid to ask for help or advice

"So question for all you fabbers.

what do you do to keep your mind off worrying thing's?

What would keep you distracted? "

Everyone worries, humans and animals, its how we react to a threat.

Worrying is like a magnifying glass, it enlarges everything. So ask yourself right now if you can do something about it. If you can’t, write down your worry, release it and focus on right now.

Some threats are real, others are perceived rather than real, to over worry about things is to inflict self torture and sometimes it can be your own thoughts that make you suffer the most.

The trick is learning to manage worry.

A good start is to slow down your activities, if you walk, slow it down so you can take in the environment, the buildings, the weather, the animals and the people around you.

Ask yourself to what extent things could have turned out differently, and how much control you really had over things.

At some point life deals us a band hand of cards. The reality is, most people cope quite adequately with whatever adversity life throws at them. Try to turn these things into a positive, realise that when the worst does happen, it tends to put everything else in life into perspective, its tends to teach you what really matters. Because truth be told, in the grand scheme of things, work, money, relationships, age are all trivial.

Just remember, worrying is pointless, worrying is not a remedy. Try to think of that if you’re lying awake in the small hours.

I think the trick is timing ! When the energy is burned out of the 'worry' thats your time to start taking small positive steps forward. Little achievements, no matter how small, look on as positives...and keep moving forward. Worry will disappear behind u, Tina will emerge stronger from its ashes

I do a fair bit of volunteering in the community and with voluntary helpline organisations for the young old and less priviledged. I find it a great way to take my mind off silly things. Its also a plus plus in that you are helping someone who needs it plus you also feel good about it... Well i do anyhows... Different strokes for diff peoples i guess.
