So 'revenge porn' is now illegal in England and Wales, and carries a custodial sentence if the perpetrator found guilty, will it stop pic stealing, and will the authorities bring it in Ireland, and up north

I thought it was more or less illegal here, but under copyright/theft type laws.

I know of a case locally where a man posted photos of his x online and up the steps he went. He didnt come down them again.

Think the difference may be that even if you 'own' the porn and it was made with consent, to post it without consent is now illegal

And back we go to the argument of who owns copyright of your own image, the photographer or the subject.

Yeah, can be complex, but this law tidied up the fact that it doesn't matter who owns it, if it appears online without mutual consent, its now illegal

well then I'd say there's plenty of that on here... single profiles showing the face of someone who is definitely not the account holder...

Well, think the law needs changed here as well, mind you, they can argue over what shade grey the kerbstones are up north, so I'm not holding my breath!
