Being 27 I have in 3 occasions been unable to contact a profile of interest due to their age restrictions myself being on the younger side of their age ranges. Twice I have managed to get around the age issue with the help of a fellow fab couple. And on both cases it was worth the hassle as a meet be it social or play was planned. But I am turned off the idea of doing it for the third time. Should I just face it that my age is offputting to some and ignore the option of sending a mail through a third person or should I continue using said third person to make contact with likely potentials??

It is a fine line.

I got lucky, a girl I had checked out several times sent me a message. I couldn't because I was outside the range.

Probably easier for a woman outside the age to message than a man to message outside.

Surely if it's a mutual friend then what harm? At worst they'll say no but you won't know if you don't ask. I'd say go for it

Its annoying alright especially being that I'm young, and whats even more annoying is that people tell me I don't look 20 at all. I almost wished I lied about my age when I signed up because I miss out on so many meets especially the user boldgirl

Re Original Post, I met someone at a party. Was outside their age range and had heaps of fun.

Not being able to message someone though being 1 yr out is heaps frustrating though....Know the feeling

There plenty of ways to get someone's attention by using the fourms or chat or getting a friend to drop a word in for u. No harm done either way if its a positive response yay if negitive move on

Respect their preferences as set out if u manage to get a break and they contact u for what ever reason more power to u

But have to agree if it was a male that posted he would most likely be ripped apart

I wouldn't contact someone like that.

I normally block people who have things listed that rule me out.

Like if a girl has "tall guys only", I'll block her, or "Black cocks", Ill block her, or "over 40's", or "females only right now"..

I just block them because I will probably make a genuine error later and send them a message by mistake, forget their profile but remember their photo and send one without re-reading.

I don't mind if people get someone to message me, because I put up my filters and blocks to stop me annoying people, not to stop people annoying me.

I wouldnt make a habbit of trying to get around peoples blocks/filters though.

Truthfully I was expecting to be bashed for "cheating" but in my defense I didn't spam every hot profile or anything of the sort. I saw an oppurtunity I fitted the bill so to speak figured I had a chance of getting on with the person. so had a friend message on my behalf purely to say Mrs Emily tried to mail u but due to her age she can't. If u want to can u make contact with her. And twice that I have done it I was right with the connection and we laugh about it.

Main reason for the age restrictions in the first place was they thought 27year olds And younger weren't serious on the scene. So at what age would someone be considered old enough to be considered serious about swinging?

I'm sorta with nosafe on this one, tho I don't block as often, and its the same with profiles ive chatted to and got on with and agreed, in principal, to meet, I end up feeling like I am annoying them by mailing if the meet was tricky to arrange or the conversation waned...id hate to think I was pestering some girl in here...bad enough as it is!!!

I do not think age is required to define if someone is serious about swinging. It's actually seeing that someone is active within the lifestyle and reliable (showing up to meets, etc). I guess, since you and your hubby are truly active and well verified, people do not mind if you use the third party's assistance to contact them and also you are a very friendly, very well mannered, a pretty gal and a good craic, so I would say, go for it and enjoy the fun hun.

I recon that if a guy did same and would have passed on a very pleasant message and would not be pushy and demanding and actually spend some time on crafting an interesting verbiage, no lady or couple would slay his head.

Id suggest just accept it the way it is...they have age restrictions there for a reason

Yeah but what if the persons not verified. Its different we run into the issue of people who only meet ones who are verified, eventually you have a pool of the same people because no one else can get a meet.

Myself, I see meeting with unverified couples or ladies as a risk that there is someone else behind their profile. These people, having no experience in the lifestyle, are a big unknown and sometimes have unusual demands and requests, thinking that if I am a single guy I should be only grateful they are interested in me somehow that I should send them my face photo in the first or second message. They are usually very surprised when I kindly point out to the fact that they are not verified so I am not happy sharing it so quickly and through the site (let's chat on the phone first or use KIK, preferably with them sharing photos first, so I can somehow verify if they are genuinely female... haha).

Getting a verification is not so difficult if one is approaching the subject wisely and with patience. Loads of people break through the threshold and it gets much easier later.

I know it worked out for you, but personally I think it's quite arrogant to bypass people's age filters by getting a third party to send a message. I would not be impressed if it was done to me. Makes age filters pointless if people don't respect them.

I'd love to be brutally honest but I don't want to offend anyone.

I think it's disrespect to get someone to do third party mailing on your behalf.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree using a third party defeats the purpose of the restrictions in the first place so I have decided not to use that route going forward. When the age is an issue I'll just accept it and wish away a few birthdays
