"Is it weird that the lady who was killed by the man told her dad all about the kink they got up to or am I missing something"

If I understand correctly she was suffering from some mental health condition and was just out of a physc ward

I doubt she was sitting around the table talking about her sex life over a cup of tea

It was more likely in outbursts of whatever illness she may have had and lost control of what she might have been saying

You think that was the weirdest detail that's come out so far in the case???? Fuck me its a very disturbing case. I just assumed the girl died by accident playing bdsm game and guy panicked and dumped body, far from it

id like to know what ppl who are into bdsm think, makes you wonder what the ultimate fantasy is for the doms that play this way,not saying murder is always their ultimate fantasy but for some it is,whether they act it out or not is another thing

According to a court reporter she often said things to shock people so people close to her were often never sure to believe her. She had a habit of saying shocking things to her dad if they were arguing as a way to stop the conversation with him. That bondage thing with a married man that she mentioned to her dad was said in this manner apparently / allegedly.

It a very sad case and of course some people will now think that BDSM is only for crazy people

Hearing about this case on the news and in the papers and one would wonder is bdsm a mental condition more than a fetish or is this case in the extremities?

Never took any notice of bdsm until this case so that is my first impression of it

It was bizarre but who knows what was normal conversation for them.

And not everyone who has a mental illness is a nutter.

And I think that his predilections go beyond BDSM

the guy before the courts is innocent until proven other wise, either way I am sure the papers will do/say anything salacious to get more interest in the story.

They're reporting what is being said in court

One of the major problems for the prosecution is that there's no way of knowing how she died so all they can do is hope that the texts, which they need to prove came from him, are enough to convince the jury that he set out to kill her. That may be difficult enough.

From what i understood he admitted in interviews with cops texts came from him, that she asked to be killed.i take it cops found fone on him or had him from other numbers he called with it

proving its murder and not manslaughter could be hard.in this country anyway

They have a phone which they say they can link to him. As you say, proving murder in the absence of a cause of death can be tricky.

I don't think pinning fone on him will be much of a problem, they can do that regularly now in even small cases. And the texts show intent to kill.

Convincing one person of that is one thing but convincing all twelve to the point where there's no reasonable doubt isn't as easy. Having said that, it's early days yet. We've seen very little evidence and we don't know what the defence will be either.

They got jeo o reilly with his fone and that must be 15 years ago now, things moved on alot since then, tech wise.

Irish courts are often swayed by emotions, not just evidence. That's why john gilligan got 20 years for dope dealing, really he got 20 years for killing veronica guerin, although he was found not guilty of it

reading about this case i found highly disturbing only imagine how the jury will feel sitting thru it for weeks.i wouldn't be making any plans for the next 17 years if i was him

Joe O Reilly was using his normal bill pay phone though. As far as I know the phone in question here is an unregistered pre pay phone,or a number of phones that he's denying ownership of. Time will tell, and hopefully there'll be enough evidence to make it certain either way.
