It is for most people, but spare a thought for those among us who find it hard to deal with, whether because of bereavement, financial pressures or mental illness. I hope everyone can find even a glimmer of hope and joy at some point over the next few days. Merry christmas to all

Totally agree ,all too easy to get caught up in the festivities ,some people aren't just so fortunate .

The troops that are away on peace keeping missions, the search and rescue personnel that will be looking after the nation over the holidays.

Dublin West

Its a lonely horrible time of the year for some.

If you know someone out there home alone for Christmas even dropping them a text to see if they ok makes a huge difference.

If you lucky enough to have friends and family around you spare a thought for those less fortunate.

Enjoy it as best you can wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

My town

Such sadness has happened in the last month personally and in the world. Any time to be homeless getting over a death or facing money problems anytime of the year is hard but Christmas is extremely hard.

All the people on there own Christmas day too through choice or loved ones living so far away.

Again aby other day is hard but Christmas must be even harder.

I suppose we all should be thankful for what we have.

I felt a bit low myself today, but i know how lucky i am, and i was able to shake it off. That's when i thought of the people who can't shake it off, the people who have little or no hope left, who struggle through every day, and who are kind of invisible to those who are full of christmas cheer. Not trying to spoil anyone's happiness, just saying that not everyone feels the joy.
