Photographs.

So anyway to my 7 followers and the ones obsessed with giving out about me....

I was chatting to a friend tonite, she had 681 photos on her iphone. Mostly nonsensical ones of drink indulged selfies of modelling her new dress or shoes etc...

Made me think, how many of us would frame any of the photos we have in our phones?

My parents have loads of photo albums of me and my siblings growing up. Those albums where you have to slide back the plastic to put the photos in. I love looking at them, seeing us all growing up.

Remember those days when you took a photo with an actual camera. You didn't have the opportunity to look at it for the "approval" before it was posted.

You went to the chemist and left the role of film in and couldn't wait to collect the photos, usually about 3 days later. They all meant something.

I miss those real photographic opportunities. What will we show our kids and grand kids in 20 years time?

Yes a lot of family photographic history could be lost ..but as most ppl put their entire lives on Facebook maybe not cause we all know Facebook is forever

As it stands most people have their pics on memory sticks or cds. I trained in photography as part of my diploma, the proper roll of film photography as u were saying, and trust me when i say that i miss those little spools, i miss the trays of chemicals all laid out in preparation for printing from negative to photo. I will admit however that I dont miss the noxious smells of said chemicals, or the headaches that I'd get from spending days at a time in the darkroom, and the temporary blindness when u came out lol.

Funny thing is I still cling to my original slr's even though its almost fifteen years since i used them. My digital slr's, while quick and convenient just dont hold the same sentimentality

I've recently gotten loads of pictures off my phone printed because I wanted to fill photo frames and albums.

Was lovely to have real pictures in My hands. Haven't done that in a long time

Lovely post, I remember being showed a darkroom as a kid and being fascinated by it.

I hate to say it, but I treat facebook like we used to treat family photos at home...if you want people to see them, you post them.

Love taking pics of family events never seemed 2 get them developed but have them all on cd's ..Meows new years relsolution get them developed look back and goo awwwwwwwwww thoses were the good old days

Lovely thread! I miss taking photographs and having them developed and giving pics to my familyand friends! And I've lost so many pictures because my computer crashed and I didnt have a back up. Bring back the good old.days!

Same here deleted all my xmas pics last year by mistake but on the good side dnt have 2 buy a new xmas jumper last years 1 ill do lol

I print off most of my pics, put them into albums,

Downside: they take up too much space,

But yes I would print them off and frame some of them too!
