Is Age Really Just a Number?

Was chatting to someone recently who I'd verified and I noticed he had hidden my veri. Now I know it's a person's right as to what veri's they chose to display and/or hide but I was curious as to why he had chosen to hide mine as he had many veri's still displayed...a good few before mine and a few after. He told me he hid it because he had been chatting to a young girl whom he wanted to meet and it seems she didn't like guys who met older women. I'm 20 years his senior.

Have many guys here come up against this where young girls don't like a young guy meeting older women? I wonder what is it that the girls don't like about it? Isn't age just a number?

We are a mature cpl and while this might seem silly we are more comfortable in a more mature surrounding but at the same time we are considered to be younger than our age and having been in clubs where younger people are it certainly does not seem to be an issue with most people.

I don't understand why it would bother anyone, the age of a person(s) that someone has been with or how that makes any difference after all its not that person they're having sex with.

The mind boggles. Sounds to me the girl is just picking reasons not to have sex with this guy and more fool this guy for changing just to have sex with her. Seems a bit desperate.

People publish/hide verifs for various reasons - mine just depending on my mood at the time.

I know it's difficult not to take this particular incident personally but think of this as his issue. You have many friends here more than willing to have your company and proudly display their admiration.

Yes I have and I use age filters n other filters to cut down the amount of mail ...women will understand why.

i do realise that being a guy on Fab is tougher re getting meets so I can understand the logic in why he did it. I wonder is it quite common and why the girls dont like it.

as I said in my OP it is each persons right to display or not display veris. I am curious about the fact that young girls seem to not like young guys who meet older women and that guys would hide veris because of it.

My parents are in their 50s and to me they are far from old. To my younger siblings, they're ancient.

My grandparents were in their 70s but I never considered them old.

I'm 28 I'm considered old by younger cousins etc.

I agree that you're reading too much into the op. I still refer to myself and others as girls. I use women too but mainly girls..

I think age is subjective, I personally prefer older guys but prefer women closer to my own age that being said there are plenty of people that don't look their age and others that don't act it lol so for me it really depends on the person. If we meet people we like and find them attractive then it doesn't really matter.

"I'm lost on the part where young women are suddenly girls. If any of the young women wrote anything similar and referred to the older women as old women or worse we'd be grilled for it. A lot of guys I've come across change in the hopes of a meet or he could have used that as an excuse. He could have just picked his favourite 10 or 20 or whatever amount he has up women in general are called girls here! I've been called a girl many times! Never an old woman though....not yet anyway

Ebony teen...my apologies that you feel my use of the term young girl is a dig at young women as it was never meant to be but I do see your point. I shall be more aware of the terminology I use in future. Thanks for pointing it out.

...as I said previously I have age filters and other filters (as many profiles on here do) to keep messages down. My real life partner is 56 so I do love an older man too
