does one "have" to play on a first meet? or is it better to have a chat and a laugh an see if we all click then make a "play date" if all goes well ? thoughts on this please

Best to have social meet first I find - or at least have a social meet with options I always prefer to have a chat and a laugh, see how everyone feels first without any pressure - then if the feeling is good go for it!

Just make your wants clear at the beginning, if you're not ready for sharing with others maybe just suggest a meet over coffee or a few drinks to ease you in. Have fun!

I would usually do a coffee but have on occasion when theres a strong spark went straight to the bedroom though aftee getting messed around a lot lately its coffee only first meet

I don't book hotel on first meet as you never know if they will actually turn up (sadly there are quiet a few people who lose bottle at last second even after talking for while and swapping numbers), if ye don't get on or they make your skin crawl (sometimes for no reason at all) then you don't want to have wasted money.

Coffee or coffee with something stronger added to it is wise idea. I met some weirdos on last site and was happy to not have booked anything, have a quick safe exit route.

If you play or not first meet is up to ye, just as saying no or yes is up to both parties there is no must play times - I've gone to swing parties and not played as I didn't feel like it or felt no spark with person who asked.

find it easier to book coffee meet at hotel bar then its just a matter of booking room if both agree, it means the first meet can have that naughty anticipation of something happening while people are still strangers without becoming too friendly and the dynamic changes
