I'm in real Christmas mood but my family is a bunch of grinches!!!

They don't want to eat a festive meal, are not really putting up Christmas decoration and don't want to exchange gifts.

I suggested doing a Christkindl but that was met with comments like we don't need that. It's the thought that counts...

What thought? There's no thought at all. I don't need presents but I thought something small and thoughtful would have been nice and we could have a giggle.

How can I get my family into Christmas spirit????

fuck sake, seriously! I don't get to go home for christmas every year and now they all behave like assholes lol

The drinking is not really an option as most of them will be driving. Ugh, life is unfair. I'm considering adoption indeed ha!

I would but they won't come to my place as we're in a different country! So I depend on this year's host to be Christmassy.

Might be a good thing to be kicked out. I think there's more Christmas cheer on the streets than with my family!

I have an idea, I could suggest to them instead of doing Secret Santa they could give the money to charity.... oh hang on, they think all charities are charlatans... aaaahhh sigh. My family is sooooo lovely haha

Hey could be worse in my house its gonna be a case of bursting a gut to make a nice xmas dinner for everyone to come over eat whats on offer drink whatever they can and then leave and theres at least two members of the family that arent talking to each other so could descend into sly jibes and digs at the other while everyone else struggles to keep the peace. Dysfunctional at best pain in the arse at worst.

I'd say most families are dysfunctional in some ways... there are some people in my family who don't talk to each anymore either.

Bloody families, eh?
