In your opinion. ..would a small Sign Up Fee and a Monthly Charge reduce the number of Fake Profiles.

Even if it was just €5 sign in and €1.50 per month...payment by Credit/Debit card....surely this would eliminate most if not all of the fake profiles and photo hunters.

It probably would scare away a lot of fakes. But also a lot of genuine people who don't want to pay straight away before sussing out the site properly. I would definitely not signed up if there had been a charge.

A fiver is nothing sure. I don't think it'd deter too many

I think a charge would be a great idea but it would have to be in around 100 for the year and hopefully stamp out the prossys and fakes

This subject has come up quite a few times on here, although I do agree with the OP.

I think it would deter the continued use by the 'less genuine' you might say.

(I call them lurkers)

I think it would help to stop the constant delete/create of said accounts.

But unfortunately it won't happen.

The issue has been raised on other forums, time and time again and the replies have always been that It will always remain a free site.

So we just have to keep relying on our instincts, judgements and filters

There's a world wide premium site with a good irish presence with the letters s and d and c in its name and even subscription doesn't stop fake profiles and lurkers. And again, who wants swing debuts appearing on bank statements?

Describe fakers, I have been called a fake because I wouldn't meet someone right away, so fakers are different to everyone. As for deleting and starting again, I have had to do this twice now because of stalkers and extremely rude people. I don't think anyone or anything would deterer these fakers they will always gain access

Bren discussed to death. As far I'm aware the site owners have no plans to charge people use of the site other than site supporter. Even if you had to pay people would still complain about "fakers" and"timewasters"

. . . . . Just saw mine has run out. . Not sure if i will renew cos only used it really to put up pics. . .
