Kinda in between ages here for santa....youngest is only 1 so hasn't a clue and the nxt lad is 13 so has no interest in toy show...it was the same last year so dont think we'll be watching it . I'm not a fan of ryan tubridy anyway!

Nobody will ever replace Gay Byrne,but I think Ryan is as good as anyone,When Pat Kenny hosted the late late I actually gave up watching it...hated him!!!

Sorry guys would love to say its a great show... But Tubridy is shit!

He is... watched the first 10 minutes and he was dragging bewildered kids around the place..making them look stupid and having a laugh at their expense..by saying things that they would have no idea what he was on about. He has no idea how to react or interact with them.. they need to drop him and bring in a new presenter for that show.. someone with a heart who can chat at their level and enjoy the toys as much as the kids.

All from different stage schools, dance schools etc. Start sending tapes and auditions in October each year. Only know cause my young ones stage school put a group forward for it last year.

Yes, I agree with you, Tubridy is not great with kids at all, I cringe watching him....

He's a good presenter otherwise I think, he's certainly better than Pat Kenny was in fairness!

agree totally,best partof the show was the startup performance,other than that tubridys sarcasm and patronising comments towards the kids were almost nasty. Personally id be fuming if he spoke to any of my kids the way he spoke to some last night. Gay byrne was the ultimate toy show presenter and there will never be another like him. He made the kids the centre of the show whereas tubridy it seems like hey quick move lets get onto the next stupid ridiculous toy. To be fair the commercialism of the toy show and Christmas in general has gone beyond the ridiculous especially in a time where some families are struggling to survive on a daily basis. A return to older traditional christmas values would be fantastic.

And yes I will now don my scrooge outfit and go sit in the corner so everyone can pelt rotten eggs and shout bah humbug

Loved last night, from the opening to the last dying seconds of it. The little boy in the blue suit someone already mentioned was fantastic, a tiny tot doing all the moves and singing along like a pro!

Ed Sheeran.......what can i say? I liked his music, but never really bothered much about him. Now i think i might just be a little in love with him. He was just amazing with that young girl, she was so lovely and so excited. He made her year, i'm sure, and he definitely made my night. What a man
