It's really very simple.

They show the date of a verification, for example 15th of Jan.

In five months time lets say June, it comes to June 1st, the verification is 6 months ago, but the person has only been on the site 5 months, thy will be her for 6 when they reach the 15th of june.

I assume.

In the above post I said "in five months time" then counted 6 months, I hope the point I made is still understandable because I am not writing it out again.
