Peeps profiles soooooooo long!!

Jump to newest

Just wondering why people still put really really long profiles of do's and don'ts when clearly most people don't read them. I will read most profiles but if they go on and on I just can't be arsed, especially when all the RANTS and BLOCK LETTERS for the do's an don'ts appear. So just to make this clear DON'T COMMENT if you're under 7 foot, haven't washed in the last minute, have a grandmother who is still alive, you live in a bungalow, support either Liverpool or Man U, haven't at least 46KK's, send a face pic with every message and bring it to any meets and most important will let my FB be present even when we message. Phew RANT OVER Just teasing but I'm sure you get the picture, if you haven't a sense of humour definitely don't comment

One in particular that I read - I can't find it now - said in angry caps: I AM A TRAINED NURSE AND I WILL INSPECT YOU BEFOREHAND.

Surprisingly, she was verified. But not by me.

Not all but maybe some single males need to read where it says no single males

Those of us who can read, see them. Those of us who under sentence structure, understand and heed. I would suggest - and respectfully so - that you will have a large percentage of blokes for whom the little head does the thinking for the big head. And they will always message you regardless. Do the message filter thing?

"Not all but maybe some single males need to read where it says no single males"

If I see 'Not interested in single males' I tend to scout straight down to the filters and if I don't see 'Not interested in single males' I sometime DO chance my arm and will continue to read the profile, as long as it's not as long as War and Peace that is lol

Of course but if they didn't want 'Single males' then the filter will always stop that. Some ladies just don't want 100's of males messaging them but do want a message or 2 from us i'm sure

Nope.

Many couples have 'NO SINGLE MALES' because they do not want you 'chancing your arm'. But they may not have the filter on because they need to contact a party host or communicate with a social friend. Or even they want to pick the men themselves...

Whatever the reason 'No Single Men' means dont mail them... Its just rude to ignore that.

Nah don't agree with that and anyway the thread is about long profiles etc not about me chancing my arm etc and alot of single males will chance their arm if the filter is not up. I've dug a hole here and probably should disregard this JCB digger which is digging a bigger hole. Start a thread with chancing your arm and being rude if you want

People write because they want to get a point across. Usually the result of their past experience with people who 'chance their arm'.

You want to ignore a potential meet because they write a lot and you cant be bothered? Fair enough, go for it, you're just reducing your tiny chances of meeting even further....

I agree and that's my choice to read a book or not. I myself personally and this is 'My personal opinion' which is that if I see loads of do's and dont's I really don't want to meet that person anyway as I much prefer a bit of spontaneity and don't need a to do list, each to their own and all that. I'm just trying to see what peeps feel about longggggggggggg profiles. Okay I put chancing my arm which a lot of single ladies and couples don't like but they have a filter and if it's not up then expect messages from single males.

Or maybe long profiles are the resourceful fix for the absence of the 'short attention span' filter.

Mine is long because I want it to be long and also because I'm quite selective. If a guy can't make the effort to read it why should I make the effort to respond or look at his? My profile helps me to out the guys who wouldn't put much work in so it saves me the disappointment. Do I have anything against long profiles? Nah. I'd even go as far as to say I prefer them cause you know where you stand or that the person who owns the profile knows what they want

I like long profiles. The more info is provided, the easier it is to understand who the lady or the couple are and if I want to start chatting and to meet potentially. I prefer long profiles that are positive.

My profile is long and I like it like this. So far it worked perfectly fine for me.

I think we have mixed feelings on this, as we both enjoy a lengthy profile as it's nice to have some information to go off and to talk about if your exchanging messages. It saves the 20 questions game! On the other hand we've considered just putting the important bits into bullet points because we've realised that people rarely read the whole thing but then doesn't it become very clinical and robotic? I personally think the one line profiles are a little bit of a turn off.

No harm in having a lengthy profile as its a chance to sell yourself, so to speak. But I agree with you about the ones laces with "do not contact me if".

They're very off putting

The only thing that turns me off READING a profile is the long ones which make no sense. Spaces and paragraphs are the best inventions for (when) reading!

It's just easier to see/absorb /understand
