Discrete = Discrete in science is the opposite of continuous: something that is separate; distinct; individual.

Just so you can rant correctly.

Just saying

I don't have any gripe with bad spelling, grammar or whatever as long as I can follow what's being said and most importantly I know that the person has made a real effort to write a few lines about themselves.

If your gonna get all technical abuot it; text speak is using letters only. When numbers are used in conjuct/congun/(ah hell) with letters it's called Leet Speak.......

I'm not sure about that. I think Tony Cluedo's definition is more accurate. Sorry op, but I don't understand how discrete can mean simply "pronunciation". If you preface pronunciation with separate or distinct, then ok, but not on its own. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

. Preferable if people can spell correctly. I don't penalise those who can't spell but do wonder if anyone is prepared to employ them ?No excuse for using text language . Some of the spelling on these forums is completely unacceptable . It would seem that standards at school are falling.

I doubt that we come on Fab to be judged on spelling and grammar...didn't we have enough of that at school?? As for standards at school...well nowadays teachers are faced with large classes of individuals quoting 'PC' political correctness...so they are faced with sexist remarks, haughtiness, violence and aggression so...would you want to teach them what an adjective or noun is??

I agree but to be taught, one has to learn...two way process...different learning styles, learning barriers, drugs and alcohol not to mention concealed knives or other things don't allow for a perfect teaching environment.

Eg. Discrete? Meaning pronunciation

As opposed to discreet.... Meaning ssshh.... don't tell the wife/husband

Rant over.

You know what that is so right, I feel sorry for teachers today dealing with all that, when I was in school think the only trouble they got was smoking by the bike sheds

Exactly tina! Try ducking from a stapler or a hole puncher coz that's what goes on these days!

Ah stop I hady hands held down while the nun slammed the piano thingy down on them, oh god I can feel it now

Ouuuchhhhh!!"

I know I hated that nun but in fairness I was a bitch in school probably still am

Thanks . Advice noted . I copied the title straight from the book and thought it odd that they did not use capitals for spelling and punctuation , but did do in the rest of the title . I typed the title exactly as it was written. Advice much appreciated .
