There are certain books that I can still remember the first time I read them and being completely blown away by

A Clockwork Orange,

Lord of the Flies,

Jane Eyre,

The Commitments

to name just a few

What are the books, or just book, that have made an impact on your life?

My favourite book which ive read so many times I've lost count is Pride & Prejudice. I love Jane Austen.

I loved and still do occasionally wuthering heights. Fantastic love story. I also read the old man and the sea...so sad. The importance of being Ernest.seen it in plays many times and always read the book when feeling bored

Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance was a seminal book for me when i read it. To kill a mockingbird a classic also. The great race by Tyler Hamilton the best sports book ive ever read. Unfortunately i wasted 2 days reading my last book. Fifth avenue. Avoid like the plague!!!! Oh and the moons a balloon the best autobiography by David niven.

You're right I'm not reading it, I bought the audiobook to see what all the fuss was about, that way I can multi-task

I'm about 3/4 way through now, 20 hours of this cr*p. I hope there's a great ending like her lip biting makes him snap and he beats both her and her inner goddess to death with the laptop he bought her. Nobody ruin it for me now, fingers crossed!!!!

When we were in school we read good night Mr tom and roll of thunder hear my cry, if always loved to read but those two books really opened my eyes to a world if never ever heard about - especially roll of thunder. As an adult I loved the David Pelzer trilogy - absolutely harrowing and disturbing to read but one of those book where when you finish you are grateful for the life you've lead

Have to agree with you there Lolli . I read Roll of Thunder as a kid in school and loved it but it was reading it as an adult that really brought it out on its own for me

I've recently read The Secret Scriptures ..an irish book by Sebastian Barry its a must read
