It just seemed like a cool celebration, it was as much about the gigs etc as the drinking, I know it was a fresh tradition but it brought together community which is brill in little towns

Finger on the pulse there! the new band thing (that replaced Arthur's day) was announced months ago but maybe all didn't pick up on it. I saw some excellent bands on Arthur's day. Particularily on the first two years. Dublin was pretty crap last year though. . It was always more about the music for me but I guess not all saw it that way sadly. It's a damn shame.

This country (or kip or shit hole as it can be known) is possibly one of the best loved in the world and best known due to few reason but probably none more than Guinness. Arthur day was a gimmick we all know that but lets remember it brought ppl together in good spirits. It was a bad idea to get rid of it. Either the gov afraid of eu/world or trying to look good to them. They forget where a massive chuck of change that goes into their pockets. We are known to the world as drinkers we should embrace it and use it to our advantage.

as a regular visitor to Dublin is one off my favorite cities tbh and I really liked this event. . Even though I thought it was real ....I get some peoples point about alcohol etc but I don't think that should be a reason to stop a successful event.. We don't stop watching Rugby because a cup is sponsored by heinekin. That's down to individuals choice really. . But it seemed a really good well publicised fun event. . We went down for it two years in a row. . Missed last year and obviously missed all the issues to. I seen primal scream the first year by accident. . Didn't even know it was on. .. In a little pub and initially thought they were a really excellent tribute band couldn't believe that bar man when he explained. . Loved it. .

Thankfully it's much easier to get Guinness in cork now. 10 or 15 or so years ago it was mainly murphys everywhere. Murphys is ok the odd time but a bit sweet for my liking. To Arthur!!!
