My advice having done it in June is to take it easy at the start.

The first 4/5k are all very steep uphill climbs and they're complete bitch!

The last few kms, while physically draining aren't too much hassle. Just don't get stuck in the mud aka deer leftovers.

I have actually seen it!!! With a load of tourists taking pics beside it too, how sad! But he's a national treasure down here

I'm doing it myself too. Might have left it too late to get accom up there but il see the weekend. .

Might be cool to run into a few fed afterwards. Think alot of the crew from work are staying in the marine hotel I think

Used to do deliveries for china gardens, it's attached to the hotel just at the bridge.. Lovely food outta there
