So my trail runs out quickly "Sold"?? Oh god! That's awful! The "sold" part that is" is what used to happen when adoption wasn't so formalised. My grandfather was maybe I'mfrimt wicklow but he was an extra mouth to feed so he was sold to a couple up here who couldn't have children. My nanny wad the result if a liason been a gp and his housemaid. .. so she was sold to a family to save family name. My dad was adopted (for 2/6) by a family who had four girls and desperately wanted a boy. I know who his birth mother was but his dad was an American gi..... It wasn't a bad thing just common practice up here anyway in those days | |||

My great granny used to read tea leaves, I would have loved to known how! Then again, the bottle of bush mills she drank daily probably helped lol | |||
