Moving to Dublin in late September

Hello,

I will be working for UCD for 2 years so moving there at the end of September. I am a bit shocked by how expensive lettings are. I am especially in a tough situation because I have a cat.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Maybe someone knows someone looking for a housemate or someone on here is looking for a house mate?

the rental market is currently the worst it's been in years. I feel for you... I'm looking for something myself and the lack of accommodation and well earning employees of big IT companies have driven up prices to ridiculous heights. Even the suburbs are charging as much as you'd have paid in the centre a few years ago.

You can only hope to find a landlord who doesn't rip you off completely, just because they can. Cheapest would be to share indeed. You should be able to bring a cat in most houses in the areas around UCD. www.daft.ie is the site but I'm sure you're on it already.

I am not hopeful though especially because of my cat.

make sure you get there early if your your looking at a place I was looking at a few places and there was a cue and some already had the deposit with them ready its very tough but best of luck

I probably wouldn't mention it if your looking for a place of your own. But if you have to share do.

What about Rathmines. Studios or beds it's there?
