Anybody up for Belfast Marathon in May 2015?

It would be great if we could get a fab group together to run it!

Also maybe you could find a training buddy in your area, and we could have a support thread on here to discuss training etc.

Any interest?

I've only ever done events like hell and back as the pain element excites me lol but I've always wanted to do a marathon. Big one on the bucket list, I could be interested in this. Oh and don't worry i would be in boy mode lol. I'll never do a race in a dress again

Think I'm doing my nails that day as much as doing a marathon appeals to me, the utter boredom of the training would put me off

It will be a true test of stamina. Sort out the men from the tough mudder pussies.

I ran it in 2012 with a respectable time of 4.06

Only thing that would make me want to do it again would be to beat that time but I seriously doubt I would . My advice is don't do it unless you like pain

Thats a very defeatist attitude.

Yeah I listen to advice. And then usually do the exact opposite.

Sorry that's come across wrong. I didn't mean I doubt I'd beat my time, I meant I seriously doubt I'd try, purely because I have already had the experience and that's enough for me, I would actually recommend it but just be prepared for the pain that last vat least a week

I dont feel the need to prove myself to anybody and I am not the one who started throwing the term 'pussies' around.

I was only joking when I said marathons are for pussies. I have total respect for any person who trains and takes part in any physical activity. To me it's all about setting your personnel goals and achieving them. Oh and I will probably run a leg in the marathon next year just to get a feel for it.

Has anyone considered running for a charity?

And are we talking each person running the full marathon?

If so some may want to start training now!

Yep. Will do. If any of you are beginners or have never run before then start running now. Not tomorrow , when you come home go and run a mile that's where it all starts. You wont start training for the marathon until 20 to 22 weeks before it but you'll have good base of fitness and endurance by then and maybe a few 5km and 10km under your belt. And guys remember the vaseline on those long runs. Chaffed groins, ass cracks and sore nipples are not nice that partly goes for the women too
