I do agree with the OP. Weirdly it's single guys that fuck it up. Invited 15, only 3 replied

Invited 3 couples and 2 females. All replied positively. Had to cancel because of the guys.

we had parties in the past and totally agree it was the single males messed it up for us we have handed out over 20 invites to couples on our friends list and only one has said they would come so were looking for another 2 couples to join join us

Guys,

having a party is pretty straight forward.

There are certain things you have to remember

1 get your venue and date sorted first, that determines the numbers that can attend.

2 Plan the date at least 2 months in advance

3 Set your rules to balance the numbers attending to what you like, that is the number of couples, single girls and single males. Also if the party is a small affair, make sure you know what type of swinger you want to come. You must be into the same sort of stuff. If it s a large party it doesn't matter so much as ones that like similar stuff will aggregate together.

4 Invite who you like to your party, before putting it out in the forums and events page

5 Once out in the fab world domain expect to get a lot of interest from males. Only invite those that follow the rules and even then only half will turn up, couples are no better than the males and the single girls need a lot of work before hand but prove to be the most reliable about turning up

6 Expect the list to change a lot in the week before the party so have a reserve list.

Simple answer is no they were not enough. No, not all single guys are timewasters. But if you.expect a degree of no shows you.have to msg a lot to get 6 to turn.up

we must have messaged about 20 other couples outside of our friends list and no replies back at all we dont meet single males any more thats why we havnt invited any we know not all males on here a timewasters but we do know some couples can be

did you give enough notice? People do have other things going on, couples if they have kids need to get babysitters etc

we take our hats off to anyone that organises a party , as we know the amount of people that wont reply back when asked or else say they will go and dont turn or mail the day of the party saying they cant go , yes there is always the chance something can happen with family at the last minute . but trying to organise a party is not as easy as people think and people often dont think of the work thats goes into them just for people to have some fun

My advice to anyone thinking of hosting a party.......don't!! It's just not worth the hassle.....unless you're the type to just invite anyone along and have a "couldn't give a fuck" attitude.

If you put effort in, to do it right, you'll be flabbergasted at the weeks of work beforehand. Exhausted on the day, even before it starts. Stressed when people can't follow simple directions and your phone is going nuts with texts/calls/voicemails. Frustrated by the last minute dropouts and their wildly over complicated excuses, or just the usual 'time of the month' excuse from the lazy one's.

Exhausted AND Stressed, as guests show a total lack of respect for the venue and other guests. Relieved... when it's over, quickly followed by dismayed, at the amount of cleaning up to do. Angered at those that avoided paying their contribution, or short changed it. Shocked at the places people choose to put used condoms(despite bins being provided)and dirty tissues/wipes and worse. Even more xhausted after hours of cleaning AND even more stressed about the handover of keys(If you rent a venue).

Oh and then Euphoric, as the first of the verifs start to arrive....when you'll probably be put in the notion, to announce your next one.

i used to host regular parties before it really isnt that hard yes you will have drop outs and no shows but if you have a good core group of regulars then its never a problem to get 20/30 people to a party

Mind you, I suppose it depends on people's definition of 'a party'?? 2 or 3 couples, at the house, doesn't really rate as a party, in my books. I'd say 25+ people, is the kind of number that you could call a party....

Takes time to get to know the right people you know will make the party work
