Hi guys,

The wife heard that it was mentioned, or more so spoken about on Today FM this morning. Did anybody hear it? It was on the Ray Darcy show.

Also it's apparently in one of the national newspapers today!!

Not good!!!!

Ya here it is -

Discretion seems too be missed here in ways!

This is ireland, in the words of father ted, down with that sort of thing, peter stringfellow opened a club in dublin years ago, a guy with clubs all over europe, his dublin club lasted 6mths.. I do hope Ikandi has not dug a grave for itself and beware your usual sunday rag mag doesnt take an interest too. Just saying catholic ireland and in the words of hozier and take me to the church, thats a fine looking high horse.

I believe we all value discretion in our swing lives as we all have lives outside of here but for someone to be publishing this on radio and paper certainly makes me fear in many ways for the discretion which we all desire. Granted this country is backword on this regard but a little bit of common sense would prevail that this isn't what a club of this sort should be advertising in such a fashion.

Then some would say bad publicity is good publicity but its not publicity i'm after

We both value discretion due to our jobs and family.

Unfortunately in this case, it seems that discretion was forgotten about by ikandy for the sake of publicity.

It won't take long for that Sunday rag to sniff the trail.

I can safely say that we won't be to the club for a while until the dust settles.

And while I agree with what was said above, I don't want family and friends knowing our business.

It's a lifestyle choice in a country living in the dark ages.

While I applaud the "fuck the begrudgers" attitude the managers of i-kandi have, I said when they started posting here that they were going about promoting their club the wrong way.

Fair play, but bad move.

I have to disagree

I honestly don't see what everyone is getting so worked up about

Do you really think the Sunday World or any other Rag will get enough information to write a story about this

As for being worried that some journalist will publish a photo of you - bollox

Have to disagree, they will post your picture full face regardless, then you have to go sue them and have your picture posted all over again and you might not even win your case, so now your bankrupt with legal fees...

no but the car parks are and the door to the club is

however it is a legit business and the party for tomorrow night is still going ahead as the previous two years (i think the club is open)party's have . Lets not forget the papers have full knowledge of this club and others along with meet and greets as backward as wwe may think the country is its not the front page news anymore as it was in the eighty's and nineties. With the evolution of the internet and the demise of church rule ( not saying it still doesn't have an influence)people are less concerned with others people choices however u still and always will have nosey fookers that have nothing better to do than spread gossip which is what we are all afraid of

I posted on a thread here a 4or5 months back were someone was advertising a party at this venue. All I said that the usual protocol was not to name the venue in public but to vet the potential guests and only give the venue details at the very last moment. But I was verbally set upon as a scare monger for saying the press would make it their business to ruin the place....

Honestly I don't think media wud be too worried about the likes of a swing club and to prove what were all doing there is going to be fair hard for them to do..!! It's not going to put us off as we have been planning this for the past 4 weeks, anyway im sure Mr and Mrs Ikandi wont be letting anyone into the club that's not on site and deffo not with Camera's hanging off of them all we need do if must is be careful on our way in the door's there.

There is swing clubs all over the world don't worry at all guy's we'l have a ball

guys journalists just print stories and take pics of whatever they want now...and worry about consequences later ..9 times out of 10 people cant afford to sue or dont want the publicity...papers usually get away with an apology on page 19 lol...privacy is a thing of the past.. And regarding the advertisement obviously the proprietor placed the ad...who else would!!!

Pics with eyes blanked out are useless. It's so clear who the person is.

I'll be surprised if the rag doesn't run a story this week.

I posted this as a fabs member with concern for all of us. The fact that the job was advertised very publicly alarms me for all the obvious reasons. Reasons which have already been mentioned.

Maybe iKandy might say why they put the integrity of the users into a potential bit of a problem.

I enjoy the club. I'd hate to be worried about snaps and stories reaching the tabloids......just because we are professionals and lead a "sordid, depraved" lifestyle outside of the office as they'd like to put it ??????????????

Lads the owner has every right to advertise a job going no matter its a swing club. Its a genuine job and while working there is no playing allowed. You be there to work and work only. As for the papers they have nothing better to do but to complain this place has been open for 5years allready and has been talked about in newspapers. Its nothing new to eamon or in Ireland. If your not comfortable going tonight dont go. Its that simple I still going to support eamon by going to club even if newspapers are out side the door I just have to remember to cover my tattoos

1)Human rights law, only applies to Government bodies and Citizens, so forget any of that crap, it doesn't apply.

2)Public place, is any place that the public have right of access to freely, or by charge. There are strict rules regarding 'Private' member's Clubs.....so if it's a straight admission charge....it's a public place.

3)After some of the vile, discriminatory and disgusting posts by the proprietor's, in their various guise's, if you're the type of person that would still attend....hell slap it up you, you went with your eyes wide open!

That is all.......

"I have to disagree

I honestly don't see what everyone is getting so worked up about

Do you really think the Sunday World or any other Rag will get enough information to write a story about this

As for being worried that some journalist will publish a photo of you - bollox

Your right to privacy is protected under the European Convention for Human Rights Act 1998. ie they CANNOT publish your photo without your express permission

My profile on two other (s4i and fet) sites were used as examples on an expose done by tv3 yrs ago.. They didn't give a flying fu*k if they were invading my privacy or not. So don't be fooled they've done it before and they'll do it again. "

Re my comments below, I been contacted by those mentioned and they have put their side to the story and given it some context. As such, I have no reservation in withdrawing my comments publicly. I have been impressed that they took the trouble to contact me and were open in their explanation towards me......and before the synics jump to conclusions, I was not asked to do so, nor did I state my intention to do so.

I felt morall, it was the right thing to do
