I was at one in the sticks too last weekend but there was no intermission, they sold only warm fizzy drinks and the seats were wooden lol | |||

Having worked in a cinema in my youth, the reason for this was probably necessity more than anything else. reels can only get so big, and if the film is a long one it would have to split onto two. the my have the intermission to switch reels. as for the app, now that you've explained it, i remember hearing something about it.....it takes all sorts i suppose! | |||

This cinema you went to was it set in the 1920s lol But actually I do remember that myself.. before the big multi cinema chains came along with their giant drinks n popcorn boxes a homeless man could live in.
