I came up on metallica, and when you know no better you think he's amazing. it was only with the advent of the internet that the truth in his playing came out. when he recorded all the classic albums, he couldn't even play the songs from start to finish to get a good take. parts are taken from different takes to make up a good one. nowadays thats done with protools and the like so anyone can sound like a decent drummer, but they had to do this for him back in the 80's by editing tape!

This was hinted at in the early 90's on their making of black album video, but they came clean about it a few years ago. he couldnt play for shite then, and he certainly cant now!

to be fair, he's been using a smaller kit for close to 20 years now. not small...but smaller for him lol.

I cant actually pick a supergroup. i've about 4 candidates for each instrument, living and dead.
