I have been called to court as a juror! Has anyone ever done this before? I could be up there day after day for a week or more I was told! What a head wreck

lol...lol...so have i been called in july....onwardsy ..havent a clue what to expect...no way of getting out of it either. .you have to do it or you get fined so the letter says!!

yeah so its says...ive had two kids here...but i have to do it regardless...and yoy can be called anywhere...for any length of time...

Ended up on last march for month and a half ended up there 2 til 3 days a week never got called until last day ended up on a trail for 2 weeks food ok lol

You can be excused from it if you get a letter from your doctor, I know a woman that was called for it but was excused from it cause she suffered with depression and anxiety

I got called for duty five years ago. People there used very weak excuses to get out of it. Personally I see it as a very important part of our democratic system so I'd no problem doing it. It was a serious crime, twas a real eye opener too so glad I did

Yeah id say it depends on what case you get...but it is needed...just hard when its forced upon people...especially those with other commitments...

i did it a few yrs ago,i loved it!tho every case we were called for they wud plead guilyt at the last minute!we got free dinners every day,i did it for 2 wks

I've got called 3 times! Got or of first two by work giving me a letter, but went third time. Was interesting, don't underestimate your influence as on my case it was really obvious from the start that although there was a jury of 12, there were only 3 decision makers there, the rest were always going to go with the flow. Being a sensible juror is one of Our responsibilities as citizens imo

thats a joke if u don't wanna be apart of it that's up to u unless its ur career or its ur case or some thing but threatin to fine u or anyone who wishes bot too be apart of it is utter stupid maybe im missing some thing im assuming a letter came in the post saying if u won't be apart of a jury u may face a legal fine etc Mr etc that's bollix id refuse to do it if it wore me fact lol

I was asked to do jury service in London when I lived in England. I called to let them know I couldn't do it and the guy asked why. I told him I lived in Carlisle he said I could travel. I said georgraphy was not his favorite subject at school and he asked why. I explained it would take me six hours on the train to get there each day I was at the other end of the country. He asked where I said do you know where Scotland is well I am in the nearest English town to there. He finally conceded and transferred it to my local court where I was not called

Got called for it last year. Hundreds get called and it all depends how many cases they have to hear. They draw out of a hat and I was the first name pull of the hat. What a time to win a raffel ! I told him I had an exam next week and I was let go.

I was called last year and served in the jury. I was even jury spoke person. It lasted for a week and a half. We could not reach a verdict. Dinner was lovely every day. I won't be called anymore for 3 years.

imo there should be a professional panel of jurors picked from all over' it shouldn't be just randomers pulled in off the street

exactly as I said! She said a Friday then said a date and I assumed it was that Friday as she never mentioned beforehand been in dub any other day!
