what's the point in having verification when they are totally one sided if you choose to give a bad verification it is not going to be showed

I see what you mean, but imagine you rejected someone, because they're not your type. So they get back at you by writing a bad verification.

What do you then? You have raving reviews of your good meets, maybe some 'meh' ones and then nasty ones from rejected people.

it would still not be a balanced review of your personality.

A bad meet for me doesn't mean the person is a bad person.and my judgement shouldn't effect others meeting the person

its not about ., ah I did not like him or her kind of thing its about a totally lack of respect for peoples wishes and safety and there is no way of letting others know about it the only thing you have is verification and they are pointless because even if you waste your time sending a bad one it won't be shown

I had a bad sex meet with someone who was well verified tried to have unsafe sex with me, which is a huge no no. He was more botheted and annoyed with me for not writing a veri for him, reality is he didn't need it, he had plenty and when I explained how my veri would read he apologised.

We had a similar discussion on the Scottish forum a while back, and im sure there have been many others.

In my view the verification system is flawed and open to abuse.

In my case i could have been verified by one of my oldest friends the day i joined the site, but it wouldnt mean much.

Many people have also spoken to me about being tricked by verified profiles who turned out not be be who/what they said they are. Add to this just because the person(s) were compatible doesnt mean you will be compatible with them.

So while veris can be a useful indicator they are not a guarantee of anything.

verifications for us are to see that people are who they say they are (and aren't a single man on a couples profile for example!). So in that way they are useful to us

again that's my point we have no way of warning others about things ., the only thing we have is verification which are pointless

Still rather trust a page that has some rather than none. Even if it was just to prove that there's a couple/woman behind certain profiles as Noire touched on, then they're useful

A very fair and valid point op veris are to confirm u met who was described in the profile we may add or subtract as we wish

if there is an issue with a meet that u feel needs warning u could mail ur friends list and they in turn could mail thiers its a small community news gets around but the down side is the profile will delete and reappear five mins later under a different guise

We're grown up. We make decisions for ourselves. The verifications guide us slightly. I think if folk use forums/chat and network here they'll wean out the bad folk (as much as possible anyway/not all obv)

thing is, I could report someone on here for harrassing, threatening me outside this site... they won't be removed or blocked by admin. Why? Because they have no proof.

But thing is maybe I did meet you and you rejecte me and my ego is so bruised so I make up a story about you... I report and say that we met and you went crazy abusive that I got scared and you followed me home... etc etc

So again, how are you making sure that the system is not being abused?

However some folk have even fabricated stories about being stalked/harassed etc. .. WHY? GOD KNOWS

We haven't met anyone yet that needed a bad veri. I would assume that if you met someone that made you uncomfortable but didn't require reporting to the Gardaí you would report to admin & not meet them again. I also assume that if admin get several reports about a person/people that they would investigate.

If you honestly believe someone is dangerous/has hassled you/stalked you, you have to go to the police

One guy this neck of the woods has been reported time again to admin for his stalking/bullying/blackmailing ways, and still he is on here

thanks for all the replies I take everyone's point to be valid but I do think there should be some way of letting other people on this site know about peoples behaviour other than (what a lovely couple not to be missed keeping these all to my self ) you will never see a bad verification so for that reason I think they are pretty much pointless

But there is plenty of ways ... girls pm girls to warn each other of dodgy meets .. and many of us are in contact with each other outside of here .. only the other day with a few of us working together we were able to identify a guy whos been harassing alot of women on here me included .. veris aren't the place to warn peeps .. if a guy is a freak he'd have his profile deleted as soon as he noticed the 'bad' veri and a new one created within minutes.. malone it's good to talk

god nothing to do with personalities clashing that happens every day in every walk of life

no necessarily!sum ppl just dont bother giving veries,to me a verification means nothing,it just means tht they have met sumone b4 and will more than likey show up.

As others have said all you need from a veri is whether the person turns up and are who the claim to be, anything else should be taken with a pinch of salt as after all we all like different things, so one man or woman's dream meet could be another ones disaster meet. Anything else is open to too abuse

To me a veri just means that person exists, is not a fella pretending to be a woman, pictures reflect who they are. I ignore the ones who say 'great fuck blah blah' I can chose to judge that myself if we meet.

Even if its just a coffee meet

Never go into detail about what happened.

If you cant give a good one is it better to not give one than to sing their prase

I'm disgusted at what happened to you two and can completely understand why you are so upset. I just don't understand how a verified couple could behave this way. Swinging is supposed to be fun. I think if something like this happened to us it would make us feel disillusioned about the whole thing.

Of course the verification process is no help to you at all in this situation xx
