Ikandi tonight... dissapointed..

Tonight i went to ikandi and meet some really nice and funny people outside the door in the lovely rain.. Huge thank ye to those whom helped me out and i would like to get in touch with ye... however this was not to be.. three times i was refused entrance as well as a few others and told to wait outside in the rain til the crowd died down a bit and still refused by a very ignorant guy who is not a fan of huge crowds. now im not one for posting up stuff but certainly want to make a point.. it has certainly put a damper on my interest in going there again soon.. but i want to thank those whom i meet in the rain and those on the end of the phone.. just wasnt meant to be im afraid ..

Its to do with reception guy really very unhelpful.. If u had a digit wrong etc forget getting help in anyway and believe me there some really great people on here that were great tonight

Eamon is a bit of an ass he the guy at reception. We been there a few times and he changes his mind about things so often. Its a great place and eamon should have know what is the max amount of people he could have.

From what I've heard his a greedy fuck the Propetier and in fairness I'm not surprised this happened as he clearly wasn't prepared or counting in the crowd that showed ip, and then unable to accommodate the numbers left people outside....bottom line is as these people are swingers they won't be on Joe Duffy complaining about it afterwards either.

Sounds like a right letdown. Where is this club and who runs it? The chuckle brothers?

Not sure I would try a club they all sound a bit seedy, ones in England I looked up sounded more like brothels. Couldn't get a feel of what they are like at all.

Making the time etc to go isn't easy either, smile though could be worse, I'm sure you'll get plenty of extra offers since this thread and there are a few parties coming up!

Sorry to hear about your troubles at the door. Thats awful. We were all waiting for a good bit outside but not as bad as you. Hope you change your mind and come again as I thought the crowd and venue were lovely. ( once we got in lol) xx

But the problem is they paid in advance for a service and excepted to be able to enter the party espically when it was ment to be a private party. Eamon shouldn't have refused her and if it was an issue of too much people showing up he should have warned animal that his business can allow only so many people in due to health and safety. And not take money when the number was reached. Its simple he was just greedy. I dont blame the people who tried to bring a fab party to the area. Its the owner I blame.

You should get your money back! They made a mistake with the numbers. After you travelling that far, and the cost! Just to be turned away at the door! I never went, and will not be thinking of going in the future ever! Sorry to hear you had a terrible experience!

I hosted last nights event...you were not on my guest list you never mailed me...you never contacted me....EVER!!! YOU TRIED TO GATECRASH A EVENT!!! that's a massive difference....tell people the full story.....

I was there as a guest of my friend last night.. however due to codes etc was not to be.. he has been in touch all night and today over it with him last night.. however i did mail u annie a bit back and informed u of it.. however matter over now time to move on to better things..

Just to get this right, to get in you need a code, just like getting on a plane you need a ticket, so if you bring a plane ticket to fly to France you can't get on a flight to get to America, This seems like a person is following procedure again. If you forget your pin number for your laser card, the ATM will not let you withdraw cash. Can't exactly blame the man on reception it. Fair enough maybe his attitude was a bit rough but he was following procedure if this was the case

We arrived with another couple and were pretty much last in,gave our assigned passwords and names straight in no problem.

There were a bunch of people arguing at the door and not having passwords who were (rightly I feel) stopped.

In fairness ye could be the sunday world.

That's not to say the entry policy is perfect.We are not comfortable giving our full names, addresses and credit card details to unverified source.

I have to say it was a great night inside,DJ sean upstairs was pumping out better tunes than most limerick nightclubs and it was pretty wild in there from the get go.

Id like to see this place a success.

I totally understand that all guidelines have to be followed and anyone on here that knows me knows i stick to them strictly.. however i had a code from my friend last night and all paid up however as far as last night is concerned in my books its over with now and moving on from it now

regardless of codes or what ever he should of never let u wait outside in the cold and rain in anyway he should just drop the codes and use usernames from here i have to say when i was reading the website its very confusing of what he charges eg one min its 50 for a couple then its 30 maybe it was a miss understanding last night but tbh its after kind of turning us off going in the future anyway i aint getting invold but he really should scrap the code system an replace it with some thing else

Scrapping codes and just using usernames would not be very secure as lots of ppl like to post on the forum that they are going to the party. There is the risk you could get fakes; chancers or jounalists turning up and using the username of someone who posted on the forum.......security of everyone would be at risk. The present system is very slow and tedious but its necessary. Maybe they might revisit their admission policy and come up with a more streamline way of dealing with admissions.......or extend the reception area so ppl don't have to queue in the cold and rain.

I would just like to say to Anniemal thanks for organising the night. I've no doubt you put a lot of time and effort into it so well done guys xxx

Ikandi is a private members club! And discression is a priority for us and all the couples,its the rules of a legal legitimate run business,and its up to them what way they choose to run the business,i love the extra security of the place

God it's not rocket science .. You get a code you save it in your phone and you give it when you arrive. This event has to be treated as a private party , would you show up at the door and expect entry if you had not recieved a bona fide invite ? I don't think so.

I think it's unfair to start a post calling the club up when the poster was economical with the facts.

Well done hosting it Annimal .. It's a lot of work ! I have learned you will never please everyone so just please your selves !

I never called anyone but if u have a que outside of swingers party its not secure i am just making a point ur saying its for secuirty which is fine but if u have a string of people outside in the cold and rain or what ever thats really secure yes and well done to anni for putting it on its hard work organizing anything to with swingers partys i like anni shes lovely well there lovely but im just trying to make a point if he changed his system to solve issue about people waiting outside how hard is that anyho noting to do with me hope everyone had a great time and well done to anni u done a great job keep it up

Don't think security had anything to do with this case, the op never made any proper arrangement to insure entrance and was refused. Now changing all sorts of security measures when the person isn't even on the list, has no confirmation of being on a list won't make a blind bit of difference

We had a fantastic time last night thanks to Anniemal and the ikandi. One of the reasons we were so comfortable going was the strict rules and security that were used as our privacy and discretion is our upmost importance to us. The unique coding I think is a brilliant idea as it makes it so much more secure I would wish that all events had this system. The club was fantastic and we have been to alot in Europe and ikandi would be so much better then them. I personally found Eamon to be very nice and polite and we will be going back for sure. Thanks again Anniemal you ran a fantastic event xx

i attended this event last night and had to queue, briefly... it was drizzling a bit, but I wasn't worried about getting a little wet.. it certainly didn't dampen the mood.. there was great banter amongst those in the queue... when I got to "check-in" access was instant, after I provided my security code...

imho, a lot of times it's not the establishment that cause delays but the clients who do not supply the correct or conflicting information... and this ultimately slows down the entire process... systems are in place for a reason and if we don't like it and it's not necessary then we don't have to engage with it... to bitch and whine, especially when some people didn't even experience it or the club smarts of looking to disagree for the sake of it...

anyone queuing that felt their privacy was being threatened had the option at any time to just turn around and leave...

congrats to Annie for a job well done and anyone here who's ever hosted/organised knows exactly how time consuming this can be...

"We had a fantastic time last night thanks to Anniemal and the ikandi. One of the reasons we were so comfortable going was the strict rules and security that were used as our privacy and discretion is our upmost importance to us. The unique coding I think is a brilliant idea as it makes it so much more secure I would wish that all events had this system. The club was fantastic and we have been to alot in Europe and ikandi would be so much better then them. I personally found Eamon to be very nice and polite and we will be going back for sure. "God it's not rocket science .. You get a code you save it in your phone and you give it when you arrive. This event has to be treated as a private party , would you show up at the door and expect entry if you had not recieved a bona fide invite ? I don't think so.

I think it's unfair to start a post calling the club up when the poster was economical with the facts.

Well done hosting it Annimal .. It's a lot of work ! I have learned you will never please everyone so just please your selves !

This was a private party and not an open club night so naturally security had to be tight as things could have easily got out of hand. Certainly the entrance process was slow and could have run smoother but this was the first time an event of this magnitude has been run at this venue so perhaps to be expected. Ireland is not exactly awash with swing clubs so personally would like to see this place succeed. As for last night we had a great time thanks so much to Anniemal for organising rather you than me guys

We have been to iKandi a good few times now and love it. Yes there was a little wait to get in last night but this is not the norm, considering how many people were there last night I think it went very well, most people had a great time in a very relaxed place.

We will continue to go to iKandi and hope others are not put off by the small slip up with door control.

Had you paid in advance?

Was a code texted to you and did you present it at reception?

If the answer is no to either then regardless of the tact of Eamonn he was right to refuse admission. The system however slow and frustrating it was, was there to protect those who had followed the admission process.

Of course it is not nice to be refused admission but admission control is vital."

"I was there as a guest of my friend last night.. however due to codes etc was not to be.. he has been in touch all night and today over it with him last night.. however i did mail u annie a bit back and informed u of it.. however matter over now time to move on to better things..

I have a list...your name never came up on it!! If your friend informed me it was you he was bringing your name and his would be on the list....

Read the threads and I understand how frustrated you must have felt Babe. However, there was a system for a reason and every bona fide guest got in thanks to Annie's troubleshooting skills ironing out the last min glitches that did occur on the door. Security is paramount at these events and Eamon was right not to be brow beaten into going against his policy.

Massive thanks to Annie, Paul and Eamon for hosting an AB FAB night!!!
