Click on their name and a settings icon appears top right. Press that and gives the option to block... Simples

the problem is, many people use a different username on kik and I tend to forget who they are!

Every time I shut down my phone recent kik history is removed. Today I got a message from a guy I sort of remember chatted to a week ago, but I can't link him to his profile here. Now he's offended that I don't remember him

You can block new people from contacting you not sure if thats what your looking for. Think it means you have to contact them first but open to correction.

Go to settings - notifications - ignore new people

Then don't be displaying your kik addy in public (I use a variation of my fab name). Just give it to those you want to chat to
