Mr69: I've seen shaven cooches that looked like the last chicken in the bargain bin & I've seen bush that you would need a strimmer to get through!

I would say just like us gents, neatly trimmed is usually a safe bet but I know a lot of ladies are more sensitive when completely shaved so make sure your stubble is gone if she is guys.
