just seen it well seen it all over fb that the locals around croker are trying to stop some of the concerts as croke park made an agreement to 3 concerts a year back in 2009 an taken legal action an bringing it to the high court to get them cancelled its a bit harsh aint it i lived beside croker years ago and id never bring them to court over it what u think i know theres plenty of brooks fans on here

It's actually very frustrating to think agreement was made yet concerts planned. Obviously promoters figured public opinion would push them through if controversy. I find that very disheartening myself. Nothing to do with Garth Brooks just to do with what's right. Just my opinion.

A good percentage of them aren't real fans. They go for the experience and a good percentage of them cant recall how it went.

I'd love to see him in a smaller/intimate venue (impossible I know)

But I like some of his stuff (not the stereotypical Garth Brooks Country Stuff)

He has some beautifully written/performed stuff that you'd never hear on radio

i have relations there and you are so right hal.peoples toileting is deplorable after the concerts and its not only pee let me tell you.there cars were keyed windows broke used condoms..... its awful.i dont blame them for trying to get it cancelled

It happens if you live near any venue holding concerts. Relations near o2 in London any major concerts they go away opening up front door with someone asleep on your doorstep my be funny but windows smashed and people knocking in the door to use toilet.

As far as I know the residents in the vicinity of croke park get compensated for putting up with the upheaval of a concert with a lot of conditions being placed on croke park like noise restrictions curfews and what have you sure the promoters won't have any hassle with getting their licences with a big wad of cash being delivered to the council offices

Its not about money for the residents now its that croke park went ahead without consulting the residents

Gaa got their hsnd smacked in court in north on similar ground last year so they don't want to go to court but residents do I have a friend living in the area tgey want the concerts stopped on the fact that 3 nights were agreed and gaa hsve 11 planned for this year

Up the residents stop the pollution of our ears with this crap

It's not just residents its also business in the area that will be affected by road closures from 12pm and that's on weekdays now.

And a personal opinion on Brooke's is he plays bland country pop 'sing along' songs and the biggest thing he has done since the mid nineties is put on 3 stone. People would want to cop on rather than line the pockets of this has-been pop singer.

With U2, no money was paid, they had to accept it! With garth Brooks no money will get paid, they'll have to suck it up as cruel as that sounds! CONCERTS WILL PROCEED.

They cry about the human rights being violated, imprisoned in their own homes, but if they get money the whole problem goes away. WTF! I'm sure residents get passes like they do on all-ireland final day! Ohh and why do residents around the aviva never complain?

The concerts only started late 80s early 90s and I think GAA are wrong to disrespect the residents with non GAA activities and late night gigs by crap has beens

In relation to all ireland tickets there is a draw amongst croke park residents for 2 all ireland tickets but if they win the tickets they have the privilege of paying full price for them (no such thing as a free lunch with the GAA bully boys).
