Has the general mood on the Forums lately just moved from general good humoured banter, onto some posts with more pointed and stirring themes.

Not posting this to provoke a "He said She said" Discussion at all.....just wondering what your views are.....

My thoughts are that i feel some of the Ladies in particular are being given a bit of a rough time...

Then again i could be reading the mood of the room completely wrong

I agree. From someone that has only been able to read forum and not get involved for the past week there seems to be underlying jibes at certain members, both men and women. A bit like airing your dirty laundry in public.

Sane and discussing this post.So wrong!

I don't read it that way but I guess we all see things through a different perspective.

I think some topics will all bring out the emotions in people and that's why threads can go ape. Some things are just emotive

Not everyone is going to agree on issues threads just cause I say the sky is blue I appreciate people views saying no it's not.

Does everyone get on with each other that uses the forums no cause not has nothing to do with the site it's a way of life people don't get on for whatever reason.

Live and let live

I would imagine it all balances out over time, but I wouldn't agree that the ladies get a harder time of it at all. I think it was last March or April when I discovered the forum and it's a hell of a lot calmer now than it was then.

I agree ...i just think the ammount of pulled threads in the last few days alone(and this morning)speak for themselves...plus the Guys were getting it too..unfairly imho

Well I would say I agree with the op seems some threads go from light hearted banter to a full on assault very quickly. But as everyone is free to post what they want it just seems to get to be personal on some occasions.

With utmost respect is that not why a forum is here!? A debate. I refrain from a mass one.

Why do you sit on the wall? Jump off and make your point right or wrong and hopefully you will not be judged.

Last yr was worse I think your right there Michael

I'm just saying the famous block button you block someone for what ever reason and it's your choice.

The person you block may comment on something the next thing holy war breaks out a public row starts.

And it has happened.....

It's a public forum. i believe if a topic interests you and you can add to it you should contribute. if you dont like the topic move on....

There are always people who like to stir up things. They come and go. They are called trolls. They are really, really, sad people.

What actually bothers me more are the ones who fall for the trap and jump on the bandwagon. Probably nice people in real life who stop thinking for themselves and get carried away with the mob.

A topic can interest you, but you may still disagree with someone involved in it.

in old days it was called a "lynching mob" it takes balls to stand out from the crowd and try to bring reason back in to the discussion

then you can have a civilised debate, which is a valid contribution.

Yes, most people can manage that, but there are some for whom mere disagreement is seen as an attack.

Disagreeing in itself is hardly a problem though? Aren't we all entitled to agree or disagree? It could also be an unfair assumption to suggest that someone is only disagreeing to be offensive. I've been involved in plenty of disagreements that didn't end in a big row, although I've been in some that did as well!

Sometimes I think some people don't read the post correctly. Its a human trait to scan, rather than read, sentences in its entirety.
