AT&T unlocked mine within a day!..

well if ur trying to change networks ur new network should do it for you if u want to unlock to any network bring it into one of the phone shops the likes of cash converters or those chinesse shops that sells phones they will unlock it to any network for around 10 or 20 euro if not u can get the unlock code online another way i found is if u go into your settings on the phone go down to mobile newtworks should say search network and all of them should come up an just select it it worked for me on my old sony eircson

I.unlocked my old phone on three site, but the contract was up on it. If you check on Vodafone site it should direct you to it and at least that way you know it's done right and possibly for nothing as mines was

You can do it via the vodafone website. Login and follow the path to unlocking.

from what i can remember, you will get your NAC code (Network Access Code) sent to you after you follow their instructions.

Then when you power on your phone with a sim form a different network you will be asked to put in the NAC code and your phone will be unlocked.

good tip is to lookup youtube on how to enter the NAC code with the new sim.

there was a clip from a lad who had the SamSung Galaxy Mini and he ran me through it.

Bit of work but it will save you 30 quid maybe?

Some good and some bad info being passed around here, but i know a fair bit about this so i have to ask you Hal:

What type of phone it it?

Are you bill pay or pay as you go?

when you answer those i can give you correct advice.

there are loads of galaxies, it doesnt really matter... S4? S4 mini? S3 mini?

anyway, as others have said you could try the vodafone site for the NAC code, but i've found that method hit or miss.

best option is to call vodafone customer care (on 1907) and try to get through to a human (they have an automated section on unlocking your phone, dont bother with it) and give them the IMEI number (15 digit number under the battery) and your mobile number. they should get the code for you (could take a few days) and either text or email it to you. write it down and put any non vodafone sim in the phone and turn in on. it will ask for the code, once you put it in its unlocked.

Now, vodafone may say you have to wait til your contract is up before they will unlock your phone but that is usually reserved for iphone customers.

hope this helps.

I just unlocked my iPhone from 3, rang them and they took the handset id and sent it to apple. Got an email 24 hours later.. New simm in.. Sorted. Once you're out of contract they have to unlock your phone.

Don't go giving the fellas in them unlock shops money for what you can do yourself.

Drogheda

IMEI can be found by typing

*#06# on keyboard . Write the number down and ring Vodafone for the NAC. If a min of 3 bills have been paid they are obliged to give you the unlock code. It it is then sent by text . Took 3 days for my S4 code to come.
