It's been a few years since we were there but Germany is quite liberal when it comes to sex, you will find a vibrant sex scene in most cities. In Frankfurt the red light district is very near the main train station. Of course, some will see it as seedy as it's out in the open but most clubs/bars are well regulated and are quite safe. There is also a huge fetish scene in Germany so if you like things a bit left of centre then definitely worth a visit.
