That's why I don't even bother replying. It just opens the door for them to start the sales pitch. And giving out about not getting a reply just proves too me I did the right thing by deleting.

I got a message last nite from a guy wanting a meet and I told him I cudnt meet for a few weeks as I was in holidays and he replied and I quote

'Why do you not be like the rest of the time wasters on here and not reply at all?'

So tell me guys.....is it best to reply and say you are not interested atm or ignore messages??

You can't control the reaction you'll get from a message. I'd say respond in good faith how you'd like to be treated. If you get weirdness in return it's not your fault, take note and move on ... it certainly can put you in a bad mood if you let it

The "perspective" is to accept that 90% of people using this site are grade one certified arseholes who use it for porn and then to accept that both men and women have arses .....

Now fan has a fantastic tool to help you out most arseholes . It's called verification . If a user is well verified then the chances of them been abusive is much reduced . Not eliminated just reduced .

But on your profile you totally dismiss verifications and say you will verify people yourself .

And therein may lie your problem with getting abusive messages .

have to agree with Tom...filters work wonders. Also there are considerably more men than women on here (just like a good old fashioned barn dance), so the chances of more A holes are quite large...personally I think most women on here are very polite and patient...but I have come across some right B's...swings and roundabouts I suppose

Yes you are correct I did not say some but yet I did not say all.

So justify why some of these guys have verifications? because my profile has been written and adjusted on the back of treatment from "some" guys on here.

The only verification I look for on here is fabs tool to verify if the person/s is/are male or female.

Ah Feck this yapping over not replying or saying no. If you don't like just block. It's happened to me. I've been blocked by a few and am I botherd...... Nope. I also work on the basis if I chat to someone on here and then mail them and they delete the message I block them. Saves me of looking at them and them at looking at me. There is a heavy man to women ratio on here so for every message I send to a lady I reckon she is receiving ten of the same. Fecking men on here need to grow a set and MAN UP ffs

I think the point is if someone says not interested, be it a man or woman, take it at face value and move on. Don't keep messaging, pleading, whinging, or abusing.

I'm sure it is difficult for men to send out loads of messages and not get replies. It is as difficult for woman to go through loads of messages and sometimes it's just easier to do a complete delete of your in box. Has nothing to do with you personally and if you are that thin skinned that you can't take rejection perhaps fab isn't the place for you.

Well the claws are coming out. Personal jibes at someone through forum I think shows I was correct in blocking said person.

Believe me there is a lot of attention I can do without and like everyone new to this I am just finding my feet and will make mistakes but I will learn from them.

This was just meant as a general post not meant as a personal jibe towards any one person.

Maybe I'm odd but if I send a message and receive a polite no I take it on the chin and move on,I don't take it personally. I assume a no means no.

respectful at all times of other peoples point of view and a right to their own opinion and sense of personal, albeit virtual space.

Now when I send a message and don't revive a reply I just accept this as a discourtious no and move on.

I always read the profile and only mail if I fit the criteria the person has clearly stated they prefer as in age range etc. now it can definitely get a bit annoying if a polite hello is instantly deleted as people always moan about time wasters. In those instances it is my time that is being wasted by someone who if they are that fussy should really tighten up their criteria and use filters and stop moaning about the amount if mail they are getting. There we go. My Sunday rant is off my chest now

I hardly think you can say someone is wasting your time by not replying to a message you chose to send. You weren't solicited to send said message, people are under no obligation to reply.

That's like me contacting Tesco every time I get a sales flyer through my door and saying thanks but no thanks.

I hardly think you can say someone is wasting your time by not replying to a message you chose to send. You weren't solicited to send said message, people are under no obligation to reply.

I think it's fair to say that if you don't get a reply from a recipient by then sending another message is not going to give you a better chance of meeting them, make or female!

Man the F up, move on & keep looking, if someone replies, great, if they don't, so what. Lets not be so over sensitive.

This subject is a constant in the forums, maybe some people I suppose just like to have a good 'oul moan.

That's thing about forums. Some people never read the original post."

The other thing is people when they don't get the reaction they thought (like lots and lots of sympathetic posts ) say that "what I meant was......" And "I never said that".

It's the good thing about forums . If you make a valid point you get good feedback . If you don't then ouch it hurts like hell

You are dead right Tom and totally agree about the posts looking for sympathetic posts and terms of endearment reactions.

To be fair to funnygirl though in this case she didn't complain about how much mail she getting. I don't agree myself with the nature of the post and was surprised at the reaction myself.

I've gone hard line. If I get a mail and it's obvious that they have completly ignored what I have written in my profile then I just delete the mail straight away. I especially love the I know I'm a little bit older/ younger/unverified/attached etc than what you are looking but..................
