The Age Old Question

Got the Fab Supporter subscription renewal reminder a few days ago.....time really has flown since I last renewed.

I have enjoyed my Fab journey so far, met some wonderful Fab friends and admittedly also interacted with a few more forgettable fabbers. But it has mostly been an interesting, informative and enjoyable experience.

Despite an occasional stint on the naughty step I have gained immense pleasure from my frequent forum forays and though my sometimes overly long-winded contributions may not have been appreciated by everyone I hope they have always been balanced and reasonably well informed opinions which have added something to various thread topics.

I am in an age cohort which is very much in the minority on Fab and some people may believe elder Fab lemons like myself are here in an attempt to regain an element of long lost youthful sexual prowess but are in fact well past their sexual sell-by date. The truth is, in my case at least, age has brought with it a sexual freedom and a new sense of adventure which Fab has allowed me to explore.

Having had two social meets this week, another arranged for tomorrow and a possible play meet next week my dilemma is, if I decide not to renew and actually leave the site, will I miss the fun of Fab or should this ageing nocturnal omnivore retire to his sett and live out his days basking in the glorious memories of a Fab journey well travelled but which is now at it's final destination.

"Should I Stay or Should I Go"...a Clash of emotions.

I think it's a question many of us ask time to time, Are we too old for this.

And unlike the UK, older male fabbers in Ireland are seem surplus to requirements.

Our needs on Fab have evolved and I do agree that age has brought a sense of unbridled freedom, what we wish not what others desire and we engage in other ways.

I always appreciated your Forum imput even we may not have agreed at times and I would feel that part of Fab is gone without that.

" We're on the road to nowhere

Come on inside

Takin' that road to nowhere

We'll take that ride"

Whichever decision,it will be the correct one

Only you knows what's right for you.

Also, not renewing your subscription doesn't mean you automatically leave the site.

Who else would tell us such jokes(aforementioned "jokes" are being debated by the U.N. security council)....

Stay. I am. Even considering where I am now. Few people here are worth staying connected with.

But, up to you and your thoughts/feelings on the issue.

I know not renewing as a site supporter does not mean having to leave the site but I feel obliged to contribute if I am to continue to participate. 💶

That's nonsense, but you do you.

Contributing doesn't give you a say in how the site is run.

Stay as long as youre happy to stay no matter your age

I agree with the idea of paying but only because it helps keep the site alive and I enjoy using it

By all means pay. Just don't equate payment/non payment with "having a say" of some kind.

Stay ,

For me, you always engage in the forums and are generally very active here. We might not always agree on things in the forums. But thats life. And people's perspectives differ, and thank god for that. Because if we were all the same, this place would be boring AF.

Regards,

The General

Ah shur, one man's nonsense may well be another man's nugget of wisdom.....

Having never been one to engage in make clicking noises or wearing white armour while riding on an elevated equine to curry favour with some perceived Fab elite, I am probably one of the last people on here that needs to be reminded to "do me".

Contributing may not give me a say in how things are run, but it does clearly indicate the sincerity of my support for site and in particular the forums feature.

Just to confirm.....

I decided to pay up but probably won't shut up.

Thank you to those who posted and pm'd encouraging me to stay.

Apologies to those that might have preferred if I had bowed out quietly like the Cork footballers. 🏐

Hopefully there will still be a team wearing red in the All Ireland Final.🚩

C'mon the Wee county!

Say it Louth and say it proud!
