Dungannon/Belfast/Donegal

We recently trialed a 4 day working week. 40 hours but only over 4 days instead of 5. The company has now decided to extend the trial. Would you recommend a 4 day working week or would it be something you’d simply not be interested in?

Hell yeah! Id certainly like to be offered the option of a 4 day week. Maybe it might not work out but it sure would be nice to give it a try.

Being self employed, I work when the work is there rather than a certain number of hours per day. Typical days at this time if the year would be 10 to 12 hours anyway. A four day week would leave me with two days of looking at work I could be doing.

My office works a 4 day week taking every second weekend as a long weekend off

It suits me as I catch up with a lot of paperwork and quotes when Im in alone as Im the boss and dont take the days off

It also gives me a chance to meet people for coffee without having to worry about the office ringing me ..just customers.

I've never had a job that could be done over 4 days.

I work 45 hours most weeks but when I add in travel time and visiting customers on the way home I can add between 10 and 15 hours to that in a standard week.

On a busy week I could be working 6 or 7 days so that would be another 2x 9 hour shifts plus travel time.

I would love to be able to work the same hours spread over 4 days but it wouldn't be physically possible.

Slowly and surely my working week is reducing. Theoretically I'm still on a 5 day/40 HR week but realistically I'm doing 30-35hr. I'm just not arsed anymore. I'm over doing stress, hassle, breaking my balls. I'm ready for retirement even if it's still years off yet. I'm lucky that I have a job where I can take the piss. C

I work a 4 day week. My days are 12 hours long though and on my feet for most of it. Yes 3 days off is great but it depends on how they are spaced out. Quite often I have to work 6 days out if 7 days in order to get a weekend off.

4 days a week here 2 on one off 2 on, off every weekend. Its the way forward, more energy, more productivity, weekends are free to chill . The day off during the week are for boring tasks that used to rob my Saturdays.
