Hi everyone, hubby and I visiting Dublin 17-19th July. Heading to slane castle to see Luke combs. I what’s the best way to get to slane castle from Dublin City centre? We fly over early in morning.

We’ve looked at events buses etc but they aren’t heading up to slane castle until the Saturday. We arrive on the Friday and staying on site in the events camp site. Any info appreciated x

Dublin / Meath / Birmingham

From googling there, there doesn't seem to be direct Bus Éireann buses going from Dublin to Slane direct anymore

There is a crowd called Collins Coaches who run a direct service but it's not the most frequent.

Failing that, maybe grab a train from Connolly Station to Drogheda (or a bus from Busáras, route 101 I think) and then the 190 on to Slane which goes every hour I think. Dorgheda is a large town and Slane is only a few minutes away. If you do train/bus just note they are a 15 min walk apart.

Once you get to Slane you will be within walking distance of everything like the gig site, it's a small village.

Someone may have other options though. Enjoy the gig.

Look up collins coaches. They have a bus that goes through slane from the city center. Otherwise look up buses for a town nearby and should be able to get a taxi or another bus from there.

Just to clarify something above for the op..

He's not saying Drogheda and Slane are a 15 minute walk apart. He's saying the train and the bus are a fifteen minute walk apart in Drogheda.

Thanks to both of you!

I’ll check out these options. We are travelling light with just backpacks and happy with a walk.

I read it as bus and train stop was 15 mins apart but thank you for clarifying

Will try get to a closer town then we’d even be happy to get a taxi but a taxi from city is so expensive x

109A bus Direct from the airport to Navan and then you can get a bus from Navan to Slane. Or a Taxi which should be about €20-€25

if you can get to City North Hotel (25 mins north of the airport) you should look up Matthews Coaches

getting back might be an issue though

What time you thinking of going to Slane from Dublin at

Work in Dublin and living close to Slane if you want a lift - if times match up. Genuine offer just a lift
