On a serious note, what are opinions on the new government scrappage scheme for cars over 13 years to go electric?

Is there enough juice in the grid for it and will it mean going nuclear (which is even more frightening with a delayed over budget children's hospital and spiralling cost of bike sheds)

I know would you have any faith in the shower in Leinster house to build to build and run a nuclear power plant, after some of the incompetence shown on other building projects

There is no chance of the Government building a nuclear plant, even the British that take on massive infrastructure projects don't.

If it ever happens it will be a private French company that will do it...Same will go for the Metro if that ever happens!!

And the money allocated will provide 1,100 grants, so 42 per county. Not huge by any means.

From what I read the grant will be diverted to counties away from Dublin first as it seems overall that cars in Dublin are on average newer that outside Dublin

You should always use rubber covered tools when dealing with electricity. ⚡️🪛⚡️
