We've all been there. A certain song 🎵 comes on, on the radio and transports you straight away back in time. To an event, or a place , a person. Certain songs 🎵 for me always remind me of things. "Nothing compares too you" by Sinead O Connor always reminds me of my mother. When I hear Maniac 2000 or Gigi D'Agostino, it instantly transports me back to the early naughties when I first started going out with the lads. When I hear "my heart will go on" I get brought back in time to 2016 when Robbie Brady scored against Italy with 5 mins left. I was there. Incredible.

So what songs 🎵 invoke what feelings or memories in you ?. Classic hits on the radio in the car is always great. You could be driving down the road depressed, sad, excited, wired.

My point is...

Music is powerful .

Certain songs always remind of a simpler time before social media and mobile phones

If you were meeting friends in a pub the arrangements were made and if you didn't show on time they coukd have moved to a different pub

I used to drink probably 7 nights a week...just social pints ...3 a night ...in a disco bar called Tramps

They used to play MTUSA on a sunday on the big screen ....Fab Vinney playing all the music videos we loved

Everytime I hear Desert Moon by Dennis DeYoung I'm brought back to those carefree days

When you're gone , by the cranberries actually reminds me of a girl I was dating in Donegal years ago. Love ❤️ the cranberries.

I seen a lot of people with the phrase when words fail music speaks and it's totally true. I'm a rock and metal guy myself but will listen to all sorts from classical to modern, depends on the mood, but I absolutely agree.... Music brings out all sorts in people and it's great to see in a way

I agree music is very powerful. Not so much a specific song for me, more of the genre for me, I'm a big trance fan have been all my life so anything Trancey instantly lifts my mood

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here always reminds me of friends no longer with us.

Guns n Roses You're Crazy reminds me of pretty much all my ex's but one in particular.😂

Other songs bring me right back to certain times or places. It's a very long list

I couldn't even list them. So many and I wouldn't even remember them all then I'd hear one on the radio and I'd be transported back decades.

Certain songs definitely throw me right back to my commuting days, as the only place I really heard pop music was on the bus...

Hearing the theme song 🎵 for Glenroe back in the 1980s , early 1990s always meant...time for bed, no homework done 😴 👍. Getting a bateing at school the following day lol 😀. Great times.

Not too long ago after the death of a loved one who was a musician who love football, a topic came up. Would you give up listening to music or watching football? Almost everyone said give up football. Music invokes so many memories happy and sad. Could never give up music can change a mood instantly.
