Cork, Kerry, Waterford and surrounds

Three different words for fart, depending on volume and timbre...

1. Brim (pronounced bryme) - a loud rattler if a fart. The kind you did in school while leaning back on one of those plastic chairs and got the whole class laughing.

2. Tufóg - Loud, long and high pitched with a reedy tone. Often expressed in a way that made it sound like a question.

3. Tufógín - diminutive of Tufóg. High-pitched, short, often deadly.

"Plámás

I had no clue that "plámàs" was purely an Irish word until I was well into my 30s. And I'm bloody irish. For shame! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sceitimíní is a great word to say.

And gnéas/gnéasach is such a throwback to LC Hons Irish 🤭

There's a great coffee shop in Galway called Plámás and they'll give you 10% off if you order in Irish.

This is actually very important and educational information.
