Private messages vs public replies

Just out of curiosity... is it normal for people to reply privately when you post a discussion topic here, rather than in the thread?

I really enjoy open discussions and hearing different perspectives, so I prefer to keep conversations on the forum itself. Should I mention in my posts that I don’t want private replies?

And if I don’t reply to private messages, is that considered rude?

Tend to do both myself, reply privately or in the forums. Considering most women are inundated with messages I’m surprised when I get a reply at all. Don’t think it means anything when someone doesn’t reply other than they’re not interested in getting to know me for whatever reason.

Some people cant post on the forums so sent a message to who ever starts a thread

I get a few of them...no problem

Some people want to show you how much they agree with you in order to get the ride ....I dont get any of them

All depends on the topic of the thread.

Most are happy to reply publicly but there may be some topics where people are prepared to respond to the OP with their honest answer but not let the world know.

That's the only time I've ever used this option anyway

I joined here originally as a couple. A long time ago on a profile far far away. And so I've learned that no reply is never rude. Especially when it's a couple of solo F profile. There's just no hope of replying tomit all and even when you try, people don't take no for an answer.

I’d see it as a compliment…sometimes I reply in public but maybe try a pm as well to get someone’s attention and start a conversation if I fancy a profile.

No harm meant by it… it has worked at times in starting dialogue with some profiles!

Agree with this, we believe there's no harm in a message to another profile as you never no it might work

As a couple, if we receive a message from a forum post we will try and answer back just to be courteous even if not interested, but that's just our preference
