So ordered a home testing kit from sh.ie and struggled to fill the blood sample vile, anyone else have this issue (my issue is ive deep veins and in general i dont bleed heavy when cut)

It’s horrible but necessary.

The tests are phenomenal.

I've had the same issue I didn't give enough blood but I thought I had , I got a messege to say I needed to redo it and the second time it was fine , definitely warm hands and stand over the vile

600mls?! That's nearly a pint!

You also don't prick a vein, just a capillary. Everyone's capillaries run close to the skin surface.

As already said, make sure your hands are warm, that you are warm, relaxed and hydrated. Work with gravity too. Perhaps put the vial on the floor, stand up with your arm extended downwards and gently massage your finger to get the blood moving. It might be useful to keep a small amount of warm water and a cotton ball handy to gently wipe your finger if the pin prick site starts to clot before you've got the required amount

If you have ever given blood or gone for a blood test, your told to be hydrated.

The same principles apply.

Drink plenty of water the day before and up to when your going to do thd finger prick.

Take a warm shower or simply wash your hands in warm water so the skin softens.

When the tips of your fingers are a tender, use the finger prick to draw from a capillary vessel

Yes have the same, just try other fingers. Eventually you'll fill the vial

If you prick the tip of your finger and squeeze the blood out while holding your finger against the vile you will be surprised how much gets “drawn” out. The blood one is the slowest so take your time. They are a great kit.

I might be repeating what everyone else said here but I had issues with both drawing blood and getting it into the little container. I found the best method was - drink a large glass or two of water when you get up. Shower, and as soon as you get out, prick your finger on the side of the index finger on your dominant hand, and let it slowly drop into the container over the sink, making sure the hand is fully down so blood will flow. It takes a few minutes but is well worth it. And when you’ve done that, you should be ready for a pee into the other container!

SH-24 is an excellent service and really fast and reliable. It keeps us all safe, and means we can have more fun! What’s not to love.!

We order every 3 months, set a reminder in the calendar. We've also started alternating our testing, so one of us is testing every 6 week's now, but still every 3 months

I tick everything 🤣 but seriously when I got to the order test kit on Friday it came up with swabs.

It's expired. There's no use to it. You might be able to salvage the swabs if you like but I'd just bin the lot.

As others have said, you have to squeeze your finger, till drop forms, let it fall then squeeze again drop by drop. I had to use a second one to create another point on the side rather than tip of my finger.

I didn't read all the posts on here.

Yes wash your hands under warm water. But don't be afraid to use two or even three fingers.

You will find that massaging one finger will give you a couple of drops then prick another finger and it will give you maybe two more drops go back to the first finger and get and it will have another drop read.

Do this on two or three fingers you will get enough to for your test.
