That's nearly a pint! You also don't prick a vein, just a capillary. Everyone's capillaries run close to the skin surface. As already said, make sure your hands are warm, that you are warm, relaxed and hydrated. Work with gravity too. Perhaps put the vial on the floor, stand up with your arm extended downwards and gently massage your finger to get the blood moving. It might be useful to keep a small amount of warm water and a cotton ball handy to gently wipe your finger if the pin prick site starts to clot before you've got the required amount | |||

The blood one is the slowest so take your time. They are a great kit. | |||

"I might be repeating what everyone else said here but I had issues with both drawing blood and getting it into the little container. I found the best method was - drink a large glass or two of water when you get up. Shower, and as soon as you get out, prick your finger on the side of the index finger on your dominant hand, and let it slowly drop into the container over the sink, making sure the hand is fully down so blood will flow. It takes a few minutes but is well worth it. And when you’ve done that, you should be ready for a pee into the other container! SH-24 is an excellent service and really fast and reliable.
